Gyesu Garden's signature charcoal-grilled pork galbi

Yo, it's me.

Today I want to introduce a real pork galbi hotspot right across the street from Starfield. This was a sponsored visit but I also paid for some of it myself, and I genuinely ate so well that I want to recommend it. Let's get into it.

Where is Gyesu Garden? Location, parking and hours

Gyesu Garden is a pork galbi and LA galbi specialty restaurant at 11 Beoman-ro 266beon-gil, Siheung, right across from Starfield Bucheon. It looked like a great spot for a family or couple's meal before or after shopping.

Parking was easy, right in front of the entrance and in the lot inside.

  • Open daily 11:30 AM to 10 PM, last order 9 PM
  • Sundays close at 9 PM, last order 8 PM
  • No regular closing days

The best thing about this place is that you can enjoy both pork galbi and LA galbi together. Plus, ordering the set is a bit cheaper, so it seemed great for a family gathering too 👍

It was the weekend and I wanted some galbi before running errands, so I visited Gyesu Garden. It sat on a quiet backstreet in its own building, which meant it wasn't chaotic at all.

Weekend seats fill from opening time — why booking matters

Rows of four-person tables inside Gyesu Garden

Inside, Gyesu Garden had a row of four-person tables, split into front and back sections. We arrived pretty much right at opening time and I was surprised how many people were already there... We'd reserved ahead so we got seated separately. If you can, I'd really recommend booking through Naver Reservations on weekends!

Once we sat down at our reserved table, the basic side dishes were already set out — steamed egg, cheongpomuk salad, pickled radish, white wood ear mushroom, seasoned crab, and kimchi, six kinds in total.

Wrap vegetables, ssamjang, and garlic-onion sauce were all self-serve. Right next to the self-serve bar there was also a station to make your own garlic oil sauce.

Ordering was done right at the table via table-order tablet, and even things like changing the grill plate could be requested through it.

The free starter: whole tomato with ricotta cheese

The very first thing to arrive as a complimentary starter at Gyesu Garden was whole tomato ricotta cheese, served with a knife to cut it easily.

Cool tomato, balsamic, and thick ricotta cheese came together really well — an unusual combination, but delicious. Tomato lovers would go crazy for this haha

Gyesu Signature Set, 65,000 won: pork galbi first

What we ordered this time was the Gyesu Signature Set (2 servings of seasoned galbi, 1 serving of LA galbi) for ₩65,000. Check the video for the full table spread!

They put the pork galbi on the grill first. The charcoal wasn't super intense, but it cooked the meat gently and evenly without burning. Galbi can burn if you let your guard down for even a second 🤣, so this was way better.

The meat itself was so tender it took no effort at all to cut, and they also served real bone-in galbi, which got me even more excited. Gotta gnaw the bone for the full galbi experience haha

Once it was mostly cooked, I tried a piece of the galbi first, and honestly — this place is the real deal. There's zero artificial sweetness, not overly sweet at all, and just genuinely delicious. Turns out they use fruits and vegetables to add sweetness instead. That's probably why it never got cloying, which I really loved.

Seasoned raw crab, doenjang jjigae and mul naengmyeon with rice

It was the kind of flavor that made me immediately crave rice, so we ordered a bowl haha. The king oyster mushrooms and shishito peppers that came with it also went really well with the galbi.

They make the seasoned crab here in-house with domestic yellow crab, so make sure to add a bowl of rice for it!

The doenjang jjigae here is also excellent, so definitely order it alongside your rice. It's savory and deep-flavored, with meat inside too, so it's really hearty.

Eating galbi always makes you crave naengmyeon too, right? So we immediately ordered mul naengmyeon haha. Unusually, this one had fried egg strips on top instead of a boiled egg, which was actually pretty nice. The noodles were chewy and soft, and the broth was a bit mild but had a deep flavor — really tasty.

Charcoal-grilled LA galbi, the best I have had

Honestly, one of the main reasons I wanted to come to Gyesu Garden was for the LA galbi. LA galbi grilled over charcoal is next-level good.

You know that feeling, right? Picking up just the bone part with your hands and gnawing it clean. The seasoning here was insanely good — genuinely the best LA galbi I've ever had. If you're near Starfield Bucheon, definitely stop by.

Free dessert drinks: iced americano and green grape juice

On top of everything, once we were basically done eating, Gyesu Garden serves drinks as a complimentary service too. They have coffee, pu-erh tea, buckwheat tea, chocolate, and seasonal fresh fruit juice, among other options.

We ordered an iced americano and a cheongpodo (green grape) juice. The coffee is actually pulled fresh from a proper espresso machine, so it was way, way better than most low-cost café chains.

Iced americano and green grape juice served for dessert

The green grape juice was made with real shine muscat grapes blended in, sweet and clean — really good. With an appetizer before the meal and drinks after, there's honestly no reason not to come here.

Final verdict on Gyesu Garden: galbi that isn't too sweet

A real galbi hotspot that isn't overly sweet. It's a great spot for a family meal out around Siheung and Bucheon, and I think parents especially would love it. The galbi itself is delicious, the overall food quality is good, and the staff were kind. Definitely recommend a visit 👍 No Siru Pay ❌
