Nonhyeon Korean BBQ: beef brisket and bokbunja highball, Daepae Market
In short
Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch is a 24-hour thin-sliced (daepae) Korean BBQ restaurant in the food alley by Exit 3 of Nonhyeon Station in Gangnam, Seoul. This visit orders daepae pork belly and daepae beef brisket together to alternate between the leaner cut and the fattier one, with a spicy pork stew and a bokbunja (Korean black raspberry) highball on the side, plus green onion kimchi, minari and shredded scallions from the 2,000-won self-serve bar. Daepae Market is an easy call when a late-night meat craving hits, though the restaurant offers no parking.

Where is Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch, and is there parking?
Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch sits in the food alley near Nonhyeon Station. It's within easy walking distance of Exit 3, so it's convenient to reach by public transit.

There are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby too, so it could work well as a dinner meetup spot. That said, parking isn't provided, so I'd recommend public transit over driving.

Inside Daepae Market: two floors, a private back room and an outdoor terrace
Walking inside, the place was bigger than I expected. It spans the 1st and 2nd floors, and there's also a private inner space and an outdoor terrace.

There's also seating for large groups, so it looked like a solid option for company dinners or gatherings.

Apparently quite a few celebrities have visited Daepae Market too, since the walls were covered in autographs haha.

There's even fabric deodorizer thoughtfully placed nearby, handy for spraying yourself down after the meal.
What the 2,000-won self-serve bar at Daepae Market holds
There's a self-serve bar in the middle of the restaurant, so you can help yourself easily. Fresh lettuce wraps, minari (water celery), pa-kimchi (green onion kimchi), kimchi, shredded green onions, garlic, mushrooms, corn salad — all sorts of good side dishes to eat with the meat.
Daepae Market menu: thin-sliced meat cuts, sides and highballs

Looking at the menu, there's quite a variety of meat beyond daepae pork belly — daepae pork shoulder, daepae beef brisket, daepae duck, Hanwoo (Korean beef) daepae chadolbagi (beef brisket), and more.

Beyond the meat, there are side dishes like sundubu jjigae (soft tofu stew), steamed egg, bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles), mul naengmyeon (cold noodle soup), and ramen — great for adding a meal after the meat.

Plus there are drink options that seem tailored to women's tastes — omija (schisandra berry) highball, bokbunja (Korean black raspberry) highball, plum highball, Saero omija, and Soonhari grapefruit soju haha (and indeed, there were a lot of couples and women customers!).
Thin-sliced daepae meat cut to order at the table
One standout feature is that the meat is sliced the instant you order, so you get thin daepae slices straight to the grill.

Once you order, you can hear that slicing sound haha.
Daepae pork belly vs daepae beef brisket: how do they taste?
Once the order arrives, the round, curled-up look of daepae meat is already pretty on its own haha. Beef brisket on the left, pork belly on the right!

When the thin-sliced meat is laid out on the grill, it starts cooking fast. Daepae just has to naturally curl up like that to taste right, don't you think? 😆
Daepae pork belly is clean and nutty, so it's great to enjoy as the default, while the beef brisket is richer and more tender — fun to pick between the two 👏👏

I tried a piece of golden-brown daepae — thin enough that it wasn't chewy at all, just soft to bite. Good! Daepae really tastes best grilled thoroughly until the edges are slightly crispy 🤤. You can really taste that savory pork flavor too haha.

It's delicious grilled together with kimchi on the pan, and also pairs well piled high with shredded green onion haha. Since you can grab as much side dish as you want from the self-serve bar, mixing and matching was half the fun.
Wrapped a piece of daepae pork belly in a perilla leaf with minari and garlic — one perfect bite! Meat really is best wrapped haha.
Eating just meat continuously can get a bit greasy, but pairing it with kimchi or shredded green onion made it much cleaner! Since daepae meat is thin, you end up grabbing several slices at once — that's basically the soup replacement, right? Haha.

Sides ordered: spicy pork stew and bokbunja highball
Meat can't be complete without stew — I ordered the spicy pork stew as a side, and it looked pretty solid, right?

It was packed generously with ingredients, so I immediately added freshly cooked rice~! This is it, this is it~ It went down so smoothly, and paired perfectly with the meat!

The bokbunja highball was cute and tasty too — right up women's alley haha.

Since it's open 24 hours, this place seems like a great option for a late-night meal or a midnight meat craving.
