Goyang mall bakery café for anbutter salt bread and Fritz coffee
In short
Boulangerie Tan, Hyundai Department Store KINTEX is a salt bread bakery on B1 of the Hyundai Department Store in Goyang, Gyeonggi, run by the bakery known for its Paju Unjeong flagship. Hungry mid-shopping, I had anbutter salt bread (salt roll with red bean and butter), a fig cream cheese baguette and an americano made with Fritz Old Dog beans at the seats right outside the store. The salty bread, sweet red bean and butter and the rich americano paired so well that Boulangerie Tan made a satisfying dessert break between shopping stops.

With fall here, I visited Hyundai Department Store KINTEX to look at some light new clothes and get some shopping done. This spot is right next to the KINTEX exhibition halls and close to the lovely Ilsan Lake Park, so it's a great location to pair with a shopping trip before or after. I often shop at the department store and then walk over to the lake park or drop by a KINTEX event afterward — the accessibility here has a lot going for it.
Where is Boulangerie Tan in Hyundai Department Store KINTEX, and what are its hours?
Boulangerie Tan, Hyundai Department Store KINTEX is on B1 of Hyundai Department Store KINTEX, 817 Hosu-ro, Ilsanseo-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. Hours are 10:30 - 20:30.

I was happily browsing and shopping that day and completely lost track of lunch, so hunger hit hard. I'm a bread lover at heart, so I got a craving for fresh bread and a cold coffee for dessert and headed down to the B1 food hall. B1 is packed with well-known food brands alongside various desserts, and the one that caught my eye was Boulangerie Tan. I'd been curious about it for a while — it's the famous bakery at the Paju Unjeong flagship that people line up for every day.

Salt bread 3+1 and the 9,900 won brunch set at Boulangerie Tan
Boulangerie Tan's location is right by the B1 escalator, so it was easy to find without any hassle. Once I got there, several events and a fresh menu lineup caught my eye. There was a generous deal where buying 3 salt breads gets you 1 extra gourmet butter salt bread, plus a brunch set for ₩9,900 that comes with a carrot râpée chicken salt bread and an americano.

The display case was full of sandwiches that looked delicious at a glance. I heard this is a well-known bakery near KINTEX, and even though the case wasn't huge, each bakery item looked special enough to catch the eye. From carrot râpée chicken sandwiches to sun-dried tomato sandwiches, the fillings looked so generous that they'd be perfect to pack up for an outing to the nearby lake park.

The signature salt bread lineup was also impressive — a choco cream salt bread coated all over in chocolate, a soft milk cream salt bread, an anbutter salt bread, and more tempting options that kept me deliberating for a long time.

Coffee at Boulangerie Tan: americano made with Fritz Old Dog beans
After much deliberation, I chose the anbutter salt bread and the fig cream cheese baguette to eat there, along with an americano and an iced decaf americano to drink. The drink menu was simple, focused on just 4 coffee options, and the fact that they use Fritz Old Dog beans — known for their rich, heavy flavor — showed real care for the coffee too, which confirmed this really is a bakery worth seeking out near KINTEX.

Can you eat in? Seats right in front of the Goyang KINTEX store
There are comfortable seats set up right in front of Boulangerie Tan, and tables are neatly arranged throughout the shared B1 space, so it's easy to eat right after buying. We found a spot and waited until our buzzer went off, then picked up our coffee and bread. Everything was packed carefully and neatly in paper bags, which also made it easy to carry around while walking. We grabbed a table near the store and got our dessert time started properly.

What the fig cream cheese baguette tastes like
First up was the fig cream cheese baguette — a crispy baguette generously spread with rich, savory cream cheese, topped with plump, well-preserved figs cut into big pieces. I usually worry baguettes will be too hard to eat comfortably, but this one wasn't tough at all — just pleasantly savory and easy to bite into. The balance of tangy, creamy cheese with the sweet, chewy figs was better than expected, making it a perfect dessert.

Anbutter salt bread with americano: how the pairing worked
Next up, the anbutter salt bread — a combination of ingredients I already love, so my expectations were high. The salt bread itself was quite large and hearty, and it was generously filled with savory butter and sweet red bean paste that gave every bite a full, rich flavor. The balance of salty grains, sweet red bean, and savory butter was excellent, and it paired fantastically with the cool, slightly bitter Fritz americano.
This bakery near KINTEX was great as a packed snack for a nearby park outing, and just as satisfying for a quick brunch or dessert break during a shopping trip. I'd definitely recommend a visit to Boulangerie Tan, Hyundai Department Store KINTEX, for its careful bread and great coffee.
