Ansan rooftop garden terrace and pescatore pasta: That Man's Italian
In short
That Man's Italian Restaurant & Lounge is a Western-style restaurant on the 6th floor of the Dongwon Building on Rodeo Street in Jungang-dong, Ansan. Over lunch with a friend I ordered lamb chop steak (medium rare), pescatore pasta and burrata cheese salad, eaten at a floor-to-ceiling window seat looking onto the rooftop garden, and the sweet-spicy pescatore broth and citrus-dressed burrata salad suited my taste best. That Man's Italian is worth booking when you want both the food and the setting for a meal in Jungang-dong.

I was meeting a friend in Jungang-dong today, and guess what? I found a really delicious, great-vibe spot in Jungang-dong! It's famous for pasta and steak in Ansan's Jungang-dong, and the atmosphere was so good it'd be perfect for a date too — 'That Man's Italian Restaurant & Lounge.' Here's my story about this tasty Jungang-dong restaurant :3
Where is That Man's Italian Restaurant & Lounge, and its hours and parking

'That Man's Italian Restaurant & Lounge' is located on the main street near Ansan Jungang Station. It's on the 6th floor of Dongwon Building, so let's head up there :)
The view that greets you right as you get to the 6th floor! The phrase calling it an Ansan hot spot really stands out.

Even the entrance is arranged with various objects and plants — it really feels like the entrance to a fancy Western restaurant! The lettering at the entrance of That Man's Italian Restaurant & Lounge has such a nice vibe. Since the outside is this clean, is the inside just as clean too... let's open the door and go in!
What the rooftop garden window seats and dining room feel like
The interior of That Man's Italian Restaurant & Lounge — what can I say! Such a clean feel! The tables are spaced wide and comfortably apart, plus there's a wide-open rooftop garden view! Honestly... this looks like such a great spot for a date, a blind date, or an anniversary :3
We were also seated at a spot with a great view of the rooftop garden through the floor-to-ceiling windows! The neat table already had cutlery, plates, and water glasses set out :) Sitting down, I was already getting excited…
The attention to detail in every piece of cutlery, and the wine on promotion, really stood out. Looked like something I could enjoy without any pressure!

The menu, tablet ordering and the three dishes we chose
You can order at That Man's Italian Restaurant & Lounge either from the paper menu or from a tablet!

The basic paper menu is easy to look through at a glance.

But if you order from the tablet, you can see everything — from the menu items to how you want your steak cooked — before ordering! Let's browse through the various dishes with our own eyes and place our order :) So, what did we order?
- Lamb chop steak (medium rare)
- Pescatore pasta
- Burrata cheese salad
With that, our order of 3 dishes was complete…🩷

There's also a Naver receipt review event running! You get egg tart & Häagen-Dazs ice cream too...!

You can also check the wine selection on the paper menu! There are over 40 types of bottle and glass wine! If you come with your partner and have a glass of wine... 👩❤️👨

Wine cellar, private room and high chairs at That Man's Italian
Before the food arrived, we had a look around the restaurant. They were running a September postcard giveaway event — the postcards had such a pretty, tidy, and cute feel to them.
Since a lot of families come here, of course they have baby chairs on hand too!

You can also see the dishes being prepared neatly in the open kitchen. The lighting in the kitchen and bar area was really striking.

That Man's Italian Restaurant & Lounge is clearly serious about wine — there were rows and rows of wine cellars. I really wanted to order some wine here :) You all should have a glass for me...! (I drove so I couldn't.)
There's also an independent private room, great for a family meeting or a get-together — plus group seating for 6 or more :) On the day I went there was already a group of guests there, so I didn't get to photograph the group seating. And to wrap things up, I stepped out onto the terrace!
This rooftop garden (terrace) space was so lovely! On the day I went, there was a family there, and they were using it as a space to take photos and play with their kids!

Bread basket and the burrata cheese salad with citrus dressing
In the meantime, the pre-meal bread arrived first! Warm, well-baked focaccia with olive oil and balsamic sauce. The focaccia was crisp outside and soft inside — a delicious pre-meal bread! Paired with the oil and sauce they gave us, it woke up my appetite even more :)
Next up, the burrata cheese salad! This — this was such a treasure… Tomatoes, thinly sliced ham (jamón), burrata cheese salad with a subtle citrus-style dressing, pepper, and fragrant arugula… A cold, moist, light texture in your mouth alongside the richness of the cheese all at once… I really want to eat this salad again ((so much my type))
Pescatore pasta: a broth worth finishing like soup
A ladle, tongs, and a small plate came out for portioning the pescatore. Pickles came along as a bonus too.
And the pescatore made its appearance! A sweet tomato sauce base with a kick of spice added — a subtly hearty, seafood tomato broth spaghetti with a spicy-sweet umami flavor, the kind that could cure a hangover! This one was really... delicious too... Even though it's pasta, you keep going back for the broth, like it's gukbap (soup with rice). From your 20s all the way to your 50s and 60s... I'd recommend this crowd-pleasing spaghetti to basically anyone!!
Lamb chop steak cooked medium rare
Lastly, the lamb chop steak! It came out with a variety of dipping sauces.

Lamb chop steak using Australian French rack! Of course there was zero gaminess, the meat around the bone was nice and thick, and when you bit into it, the juices came bursting out with tons of flavor!!! This is the dish you absolutely have to order. If you're looking for steak in Ansan's Jungang-dong, this is the place..!!

Here's the group shot! Seeing it all together makes it even prettier… not because of my photo skills, of course, but because the food itself looks so pretty.
The salad kept pulling me back in too. In particular, this combo of citrus sauce, tomato, cheese, and arugula — I don't think you'd find it anywhere else, this place might be the only spot for it!!!

The pasta was also loaded with scallops, shrimp, and clams. And of course, plenty of tomato too, giving it a really satisfying bite.

The lamb chop steak, beautifully cooked medium rare, was as I said — a true juice party of lamb. I enjoyed dipping it in the different sauces. Still, my favorite pick was the Maldon salt, hahaha, its clean finish just matches lamb chop steak so well!

The garnish was grilled just right too, and that natural sweetness vegetables get when grilled came through nicely. All three dishes tasted amazing, every single one!

Is That Man's Italian worth it for a meal in Jungang-dong, Ansan?
After wrapping up and paying the bill, even though I'd just eaten until I was full, I already wanted to eat again... that's how good the food at this Jungang-dong spot was! I'm officially calling it a must-try restaurant..!
A must-try restaurant recommendation near Ansan Jungang Station! Great atmosphere means it's also good for a date :3🩷 Lamb chop steak, pasta, and salad — all excellent! Want both great food and great atmosphere?! Then it's 'That Man's Italian Restaurant & Lounge'!
We really ate so well, and my friend was super satisfied too! I recommend it to everyone!
