Gangnam hair salon Mucota treatment for dry hair: Koara Haircare

In short

Koara Haircare Gangnam is a total design salon on floor B1 of A Tower, right in front of Exit 12 of Gangnam Station in Seoul. The writer booked the Mucota clinic treatment for dry ends that snagged during brushing, and the session ran 1 hour 30 minutes in total, including three rinses, ozone care and aroma scalp care. It cost 120,000 won base plus 70,000 won for length, 190,000 won in total, and the best part was how calm and easy to comb the hair felt afterwards.

How to find Koara Haircare Gangnam from Gangnam Station Exit 12

Lately I've noticed my ends getting a bit dry, so I figured I should get a clinic treatment first before doing any color or perm.

So I visited Koara Haircare Gangnam, a hair salon right at Gangnam Station Exit 12! Being so close to the exit means it's easy to stop by before or after an appointment.

You go into A Tower, the building next to the McDonald's by Exit 12, and head down to B1. You usually waste time finding your way around a new place, but this one being so close to the station exit was such a plus!!

What kind of salon is Koara Haircare Gangnam?

The inside was neatly kept, and the treatment seats had a comfortable feel.

Koara Haircare Gangnam is a total design salon that covers everything from layered styles, volume magic straightening, and repair care that revives hair texture, to men's down perms, iron perms, and texture styling. It's also run together with Pink Age Gangnam, so you can consult about hair extensions and styling design there too.

On the outside my hair didn't look too bad, but my ends caught when I combed and felt dry and lifted. So instead of changing my style, I wanted to fix that dry texture first, and went with the Mucota Clinic.

Hair condition before the Mucota treatment: dry, snagging ends

This is my hair before the treatment. It wasn't severely damaged, but the ends were lightly lifted and the overall texture felt uneven. It looked fine from the outside, but every time I washed and dried it, the comb kept catching. In photos, the flyaways and frizz were noticeable...

Koara Haircare Gangnam uses premium products like L'Oréal, Mucota, and Dermaheal to tailor care to hair condition. Every treatment comes with aroma scalp care included as standard, so I figured the clinic would also feel like a bit of a break.

How long the Mucota treatment takes and what happens step by step

The Mucota Clinic at Koara Haircare Gangnam took a total of 1 hour 30 minutes. The steps were thorough — three separate rinses, plus ozone care and aroma massage.

I thought of this as a light clinic, but it took a full hour and a half with so many steps. There were three rinses in total, and the ozone care and aroma massage really showed how much care went into it. (The blue arrow points to the ozone care machine!)

Oh, and the shampoo chair had a massage chair function! (Every time I made small talk with the stylist, the back massage made my voice shake like crazy haha)

The hair care below happened behind a curtain, and the massage part alone was an hour, so I was like 'wait, I have to get to my appointment...!' But she came by in the middle to check on me haha.

They kept applying products in stages to help them absorb well into the hair. Since clinic results can vary depending on damage level and your home care routine, it seems important not to treat it as a one-time fix but to also cut back on heat tools and keep up treatments at home.

After the Mucota treatment: how did the hair change?

And here's how it looked after care! It wasn't a dramatic transformation, but the dry, lifted texture calmed down and got its shine back. Most of all, running my hand through it felt so much smoother than before, and I was really satisfied :)

Comparing before and after side by side, the difference in how tidy the ends looked and the overall texture was even clearer. It felt less like a heavy, weighed-down clinic and more like something that gently added moisture and calm to dry hair. My hair combs through so well now, I'm super, super happy with it!

Cinderella clinic vs Mucota clinic: what is the difference?

When you're looking into clinics, you often end up comparing the Cinderella Clinic and the Mucota Clinic. I was curious too, so I asked the stylist.

The Cinderella Clinic focuses more on shine and a smooth, magic-straightened texture, while the Mucota Clinic focuses more on calming down dry, frizzy hair texture. The Cinderella Clinic tends to draw people who want visible gloss and bounce right after treatment, while the Mucota Clinic suits those with rough, damaged hair who want to add moisture and nourishment to smooth out frizz.

Since my usual concern is dry hair with slightly lifted ends, I chose the Mucota Clinic over something that just adds shine, since it seemed more likely to calm the texture itself. After the treatment, what I liked most was that it wasn't overly heavy, and running my hand through it felt smooth and settled.

That said, even with the same clinic name, results can vary depending on hair condition and each salon's products and steps, so I'd recommend fully discussing your hair concerns during a consultation before visiting. (KakaoTalk consultation available)

Mucota treatment price, how often to repeat it, and points to note

The Mucota Clinic starts at ₩120,000, with the price changing based on hair length. Mine falls a bit below shoulder length, so it was +₩70,000, making it ₩190,000 total. Apparently the more often you get this kind of clinic, the better, and they recommended a two-month interval!

What I liked was the location, right at Gangnam Station Exit 12! It was convenient to stop by between other plans, and the accessibility was great. I was also happy with how calm my texture felt after the treatment. That said, clinic results can vary from person to person depending on shampoo habits, heat tool use, and coloring/perm history. If you want the effect to last, I'd recommend keeping up with home care too!

If you want to smooth out your hair before coloring or perming, or you're stressed about frizz, I think the Mucota Clinic at Koara Haircare, a hair salon at Gangnam Station, is worth trying. For me, the calm, tidy texture afterward was what I liked most. The end!
