Interior and seating built for company dinners

The inside of Mat Chandeul Moran is basically built for group dinners and family gatherings. It's a spacious layout with both floor and sofa seating. Every table has high partitions, so the space feels well-divided and private, and the floor seating is entirely separated off to one side.
It would help to book ahead on Naver, but even without a reservation there are plenty of seats and a proper waiting area, so walking in should be fine too 😉
The menu and the 14-day aged pork

Mat Chandeul, a well-known Korean BBQ spot for group dinners near Moran, is widely known as the pioneer of aged meat. Regardless of price, they say they use only the highest-grade cuts and cold-age them for 14 days.
Side dishes: pickled wood ear mushrooms and muksabal

Mat Chandeul is also famous for the sheer number of side dishes that come out. All kinds of lettuce wraps, salted shrimp-wasabi-salt-ssamjang dipping sauces, and pickled sides like green onion salad, sliced chili, aged kimchi, and myeongi namul (wild garlic leaves). This is the first time I've seen a place serve wood ear mushroom pickles. I've been to plenty of grill houses, but I've never seen one with this many varieties, each one high quality. It got to the point where I was stressing over what to eat things with, haha. The Moran branch even serves mukbap (acorn jelly noodle soup) — refreshing and cool, it was surprisingly a real treat.

Pork neck and jowl prices and the tableside grilling service
Pork neck (mokssal) is ₩10,666 per 100g, pork jowl (hangjeongsal) ₩13,076 per 100g. If you've been to Mat Chandeul before, you probably already know this — it's a real spot for hangjeongsal 👍 If your timing's off you might miss out, so definitely order it when it's available.

The grilling service at this Korean BBQ restaurant near Moran Station ✨️ A skilled staff member grills everything from start to finish, so you don't have to do the work and can focus fully on the meat.

Pork jowl (hangjeongsal)
Hangjeongsal is the part where lean meat is densely marbled, which is why it's also called "thousand-layer meat." Anyone who really knows their meat will clearly feel the juice bursting through layer after layer. Some grill houses slice their hangjeongsal like galmaegisal, but that's not the real thing. That's why you have to try the hangjeongsal at Mat Chandeul — you'll feel even more juiciness bursting through than with pork belly.

Pork neck (mokssal)
Because mokssal has a high ratio of lean meat, controlling the grilling is really important. So it's best eaten exactly as the staff grills it — they take it off at the optimal point to lock in the juices. If you want a bit more chew, though, grill each piece individually for about a minute 😉

Honeycomb pork skin for 8,000 won
The honeycomb tripe (beoljip gyeopdae) is ₩8,000. Whenever a grill house has tripe on the menu, I always try it. The seasoning wasn't overpowering, just gently sweet, and it wasn't chewy — exactly what tripe should be. I also loved that it came with chili sauce on the side. Tangy, spicy, savory — it was delicious 👍

Why Mat Chandeul is a good group venue in Moran
This Korean BBQ restaurant near Moran has every convenience a guest could ask for — easy parking, grilling service, and spacious seating — plus the meat's quality and flavor were fully satisfying. For all these reasons, I especially recommend it as a great spot for gatherings in Moran, a solid choice for a Moran group dinner ☺️
