Private-room Korean BBQ for two in Dongnae, Busan: Sanseong Meat Shop
In short
Sanseong Meat Shop Dongnae Main Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant with private rooms on Myeongnyun-ro in Dongnae, Busan, where staff grill the pork for you on the iron plate. A couple ordered pork belly, pork neck and a special cut for 54,000 won plus buckwheat hotpot rice for 4,000 won, for a total of 58,000 won, and the yeast-fermented pork neck with green onion cream sauce and herring roe salted seafood was the best combination. Prices sit slightly above average, but the clean, upscale room makes Sanseong Meat Shop a solid pick for a work dinner or a date.

Dinner with my boyfriend tonight was meat! We visited Sanseong Meat Shop Dongnae Main Branch.

Sanseong Meat Shop Dongnae Main Branch: location, hours and parking
Hours - 12:00 ~ 22:30 Break time - 15:00 ~ 16:30 Last order - 21:30 No break time on weekends Address: 145 Myeongnyun-ro, 1st floor, Dongnae-gu, Busan, South Korea Parking: Geonhui Parking Lot (134 Myeongnyun-ro, Dongnae-gu), 1 hour supported
It took about 8 minutes of walking from Dongnae Station to get there. The weather's been so nice lately, great for walking haha.
True to its name as a meat shop, the entrance has hunks of meat hanging up — a bit intense! Inside, though, it's steel interior style, clean and sleek. There's a menu board outside too.

Private rooms for group dinners, and why two people should book on Naver
Sanseong Meat Shop Dongnae Main Branch has a spacious interior with private rooms, so it seems good for private family gatherings or company dinners too. We booked for two through Naver reservations and sat at a table. The entrance, with its Dongnaesanseong (Dongnae Fortress) painting and wooden handle, was striking so I snapped a photo haha.

Since we had a reservation, side dishes and sauces were already set out at our table. It really does save time, so I'd recommend Naver reservations if you're busy.

The beef and radish soup that comes with every order
They said a red beef radish soup with white wood ear mushroom, which makes it a special treat, comes with the order. I love beef radish soup so I skipped the doenjang (soybean paste) version and happily ate the basic one. Soup is a hot dish so it wasn't set out from the start like the side dishes. Anyway, I had no idea the basic soup would be this good, and I almost ordered doenjang jjigae too and nearly burst haha, so take note.

What two people order at Sanseong Meat Shop, and what it costs
For a couple, 2 people Buckwheat hotpot rice: 4,000 won Pork belly + pork neck + special cut: 54,000 won Total: 58,000 won

There's one brazier, and next to it a heat-retaining griddle where the staff grills the meat and lays it out for you. It's convenient, nothing splatters, and no smell soaks into your clothes — this felt like one of the more upscale, clean Korean BBQ places I've been to.

Sensitive to pork smell? Order the yeast-fermented pork neck
My favorite item was the yeast-fermented pork neck. It's been a while since I had genuinely delicious pork neck. I don't like the particular smell pork can have, so normally I don't even eat pork in stews and it's not a meat I favor. But this yeast-fermented pork neck was truly delicious. The aroma and taste when you chew it were so refined and delicious, but it's really hard to explain. It reminded me of some amazing pork I ate maybe 7-8 years ago, and brought back a bit of that old memory. I give up trying to describe it further...........
For people like me who are very sensitive to pork smell, I highly recommend the yeast-fermented pork neck! My boyfriend said the pork belly was the best haha.

Best sauce combo: green onion cream sauce with herring roe salted seafood
One of the best things about this place is how many different sauces there are — even someone with a picky palate like me never got tired, dipping into one sauce after another. My favorite pick was pairing the green onion cream sauce with the herring roe salted seafood. It sounds like it'd be heavy, but it's an insanely good match!

To finish, they grilled and beautifully plated whole garlic, garlic scapes and rolled egg for us.

Order the buckwheat hotpot rice in advance
To finish, we ordered the hotpot rice, which came with roasted gim (seaweed) and seasoning sauce, plus we even got to enjoy sungnyung (scorched rice tea) afterward! Pro tip here: because of how hotpot rice works it takes a fair amount of time, and there's no separate plain rice, so if you want rice, order it early!
Is Sanseong Meat Shop in Dongnae worth it?
Overall verdict Highly recommended when you want to eat meat in a clean, upscale setting. Perfect for a company dinner or a date.
Prices are a bit above average, so it's a little pricier, but satisfaction runs even higher in return — I liked it!
