Taqueros is short for "Taqueros de Jalisco," meaning "the taco makers of Jalisco"! It's the place where one bite of crispy fish taco was enough for my daughter to settle the ranking instantly — Taqueros, a Magok family restaurant favorite. It's also a great stop after a walk around Seoul Botanic Park, and since it takes care of anniversaries and birthdays too, here's my hands-on review.

How to get to Taqueros Magok Main Branch — 247m from Magok Station Exit 3

Taqueros Magok Main Branch is just 247m from Magok Station Exit 3, so it's close enough from the station to work as a Magok group meeting spot too. Come out of the exit, walk straight toward the park path, and you'll reach GMG Tower where Outback is — go up to the 2nd floor and Taqueros is right there. It's also a great stop before or after visiting Seoul Botanic Park, Magok E-mart Traders, or Magok Megabox!

What the entrance of Taqueros Magok looks like

The entrance catches your eye with a wood-toned exterior and a bright red door. It has that exotic-cabin feel, like stepping into a real Mexican restaurant. Beside the entrance there's a menu board and wooden waiting chairs, so it's easy to check the menu before going in.

Parking at Taqueros Magok: 2 free hours at GMG Tower

Taqueros Magok Main Branch has convenient parking at the surface lot inside GMG Tower, and up to 2 hours free parking is provided with a meal. The GMG Tower lot is a surface-style structure starting from the 3rd floor, so after parking, just take the elevator down to the 2nd floor where Taqueros is.

Sofa seats and in-store events for a Magok family dinner

With red walls and exotic Mexican frames all around, it feels like you've traveled somewhere the moment you walk in. As befits a Magok family restaurant favorite, the red sofa seats were really comfortable for eating with a kid. With free corkage (store-bought alcohol only, excluding soju and beer) and group seating available, it also takes some of the pressure off hosting an anniversary gathering here.

There are reserved-table signs on many tables, so I'd recommend booking through Naver Reservations ahead of your visit!

Fish taco vs chicken taco at Taqueros — which one wins?

Taqueros' chicken taco has Southern-US-style crispy fried chicken. The chicken had a familiar taste you can find anywhere, and while cilantro is mixed lightly into the tomato salsa, it's Taqueros' own recipe, so even people who dislike cilantro ate it just fine.

The fish taco has fish coated in craft-beer batter and fried crispy. Our whole family raised our hands for the fish taco. My daughter says today's number one is the fish taco too.

Texas BBQ ribs with fries: enough for the whole family

Taqueros' Texas BBQ ribs are rubbed with a house-made dry rub, cooked low and slow, then grilled with barbecue sauce brushed on. My daughter said the meat was so tender it was amazing. There's a huge layer of fries under the ribs, so it's much more filling than it looks. Extra barbecue sauce comes on the side, and my daughter, who loves salty flavors, kept dipping into it saying it was so good.

Definitely order the tacos at Taqueros. Especially the fish one!

Ordering a set gets you ₩1,500 off the ade, making it the same price as a soda. But the flavor is so much richer that I highly recommend the ade. Alternating between it and the salty ribs makes a sweet-and-salty combo that's just amazing.

➌ Dip the ribs in the sour sauce

The ribs are really delicious dipped in sour cream sauce. If you love salty flavors, load up on the barbecue sauce for full satisfaction.
