Magok Station pork cutlet, dine-in beats delivery: Tteudon Magok

In short

Tteudon Magok Branch is a pork cutlet restaurant a short walk from Magok Station and Balsan Station in Gangseo, Seoul, with an unlimited self bar of soup, morning bread and tteokbokki. A couple who had already ordered delivery from Tteudon visited the restaurant and got the sweet potato cheese pork cutlet and shrimp cream pasta, and the thick cutlet turned into a mini burger with morning bread was the best part. For a filling meal, dine-in beats delivery at Tteudon Magok Branch.

If you're getting pork cutlet in Magok, eating at the restaurant instead of ordering delivery is so much more worth it — my husband and I really felt that this time after going in person.

Actually, Tteudon is a place we'd already tried by delivery. But this time we stopped by the restaurant for a quick, simple meal before heading home.

At first I thought, "what's really going to be different about dining in?" But the soup, morning bread, and even tteokbokki (stir-fried rice cakes) were all unlimited, and it turned into a completely different meal...! You can't eat unlimited when you order delivery, haha.

Here's our review of Tteudon Magok Branch, the Magok pork cutlet spot we swung by for a simple dinner for two, haha.

Where is Tteudon Magok Branch and when does it open?

The entrance to Tteudon Magok Branch near Magok Station

Tteudon Magok Branch is a quick walk from Magok Station and Balsan Station, so it'd be perfect for a lunch spot for office workers nearby.

It opens at 11 AM, so it's also easy to time a visit for lunch.

What's on the unlimited self bar: soup, morning bread and tteokbokki

The thing I was happiest to see at Tteudon was the self bar. You can bring back as much soup, morning bread, and tteokbokki as you want...!

Before the main dish arrives, we scooped up a bowl of soup and ate it with the morning bread, and just that alone already put us in a good mood, haha.

Having tteokbokki at a pork cutlet restaurant was such a nice surprise. Tteokbokki at a cutlet place...!lol We must have gone back for three bowls.

Sweet potato cheese pork cutlet and salad at Tteudon Magok

The first item we picked was the sweet potato cheese cutlet. The thickness caught my eye the moment it arrived. The cutlet was so thick that the texture was noticeably different with every bite...!

The salad that came with it was also tasty, so alternating between the cutlet and salad kept it from feeling too heavy all the way through. My husband said the salad alone was that good, lol.

How to build a mini burger with the free morning bread

Let me share a combo here, haha! Split a self-bar morning bread in half, add a piece of cutlet and some salad, and you've got yourself a mini burger.

This was genuinely delicious...!lol Since the bread is unlimited, being able to make as many as we wanted was half the fun of eating there in person.

Was the shrimp cream pasta worth ordering?

Our second dish was the shrimp cream pasta. The cream sauce was smooth and it had shrimp in it, so we enjoyed it.

Honestly, though, when we set it side by side with the cutlet, our hands reached for the cutlet first. My husband had actually wanted to order the cutlet too, but he'd already had cutlet for lunch that day, so he went for the pasta instead, haha.

If it's your first time at Tteudon, I'd recommend starting with a cutlet dish.

Tteudon delivery vs. dine-in: what's the difference?

We've tried Tteudon both by delivery and dine-in. Here's a rundown of the differences.

Delivery is great for an easy meal at home, but if you want a truly filling meal, dining in is a lot better.

On the way home, my husband said, "next time let's come eat here instead of ordering delivery," haha. I fully agreed...

Final verdict on Tteudon Magok Branch

I think we'll order the cutlet again next time too. A thick cutlet, tasty salad, and an unlimited self bar made it a great place for a no-fuss meal in Magok!

I'd also recommend it as a lunch spot for anyone working near Magok! The food comes out fast, and there's a discount event running during lunch hours, so there's really no reason not to go — Tteudon in Magok!
