Jeju City café for apple pastry and acidity-choice americano: Dobana

If you're looking for a quiet, comfortable spot to enjoy tea or coffee near Jeju Airport, I'd like to recommend Dobana.

Where is Dobana? A 10-minute drive from Jeju Airport

Dobana is a tea house in downtown Jeju City, about a 10-minute drive from Jeju Airport. It's also close to Gwandeokjeong, Dongmun Market, and Tapdong, so it's a great stop whether you're starting or wrapping up a Jeju trip.

I'd actually visited once before, and this time I came back. Revisiting, the atmosphere was just as good as I remembered.

The interior is clean but warm, and it's a comfortable place to sit and spend some quiet time. The staff greeted me kindly each time, which made staying there even more pleasant.

Above all, even though it's a tea house that specializes in tea, the coffee and desserts are so good that even people who don't particularly like tea can enjoy visiting without hesitation.

What we ordered at Dobana: matcha latte, americano and two desserts

I ordered a matcha latte, and my husband got an americano. For dessert, we picked an apple pastry and a red bean butter salt bread.

The matcha latte was smooth and easy to enjoy, and my husband's americano was really delicious too.

What's special about Dobana's americano is that you can choose between beans with acidity or without. My husband chose the beans with acidity.

I'm not usually a big fan of acidic coffee, but the americano here had a clean, well-balanced acidity that wasn't overdone at all — I really liked it.

This place is already known for its wide range of delicious teas, but I realized the coffee here is really excellent too.

Dobana's apple pastry: the crisp bake worth the trip

The dish that stuck with me most from this visit was, without question, the apple pastry. One bite in, it was so good my husband and I kept talking about it.

The outside is crisp with the pastry's signature flaky layers still intact, and paired with the apple filling inside, the combination was really something. For me, this apple pastry became, quite literally, my life-changing bread.

If it's your first time at Dobana, I really hope you'll try the apple pastry alongside an americano.

The red bean butter salt bread was tasty too, but personally, the apple pastry left a much bigger impression.

Looking for a café near Jeju Airport? Parking and what's nearby

Dobana's location near Jeju Airport is a real plus. It's a great place to rest before starting your trip, or to spend a relaxed final stretch in Jeju over coffee and dessert. The parking space is also generous, so it was easy to visit by car.

It's also close to Gwandeokjeong, Dongmun Market, and Tapdong, making it easy to fit into a downtown Jeju sightseeing route.

What I liked most was that this isn't a one-and-done kind of place — even on this return visit, the warm, comfortable atmosphere and the kindness of the staff were still exactly the same.

If you're looking for a nice-atmosphere café near Jeju Airport, give Dobana tea house a try. It's a place tea lovers will enjoy, and coffee-and-dessert people like me will be satisfied too.

Next time I visit, I think I'll order the apple pastry and americano again. A good place to rest at the start or end of a Jeju trip — that was Dobana.
