A must-visit restaurant in Sehwa, Jeju — Don Gueo.
Can you really travel to Jeju and not eat black pork? Recommending a genuinely delicious black pork restaurant for travelers exploring east Jeju! It's Don Gueo, located in Sehwa on the east side of the island.
This was our first time bringing a stroller to a Korean BBQ restaurant with our baby, and it was easy — plus my husband, who's basically a meat scholar, gave it his stamp of approval as a genuinely great black pork spot!
Parking at Don Gueo: roadside right in front of the Sehwa restaurant
Don Gueo, the black pork restaurant in Sehwa on Jeju's east side, doesn't have a dedicated parking lot, but we could park comfortably on the street right in front. They said there's no parking enforcement there, so feel free to park without worry!
The interior is spacious and clean, with plenty of tables. It opened in 2014, so it's now been a black pork favorite in Jeju for 12 years — recognized by tourists and locals alike.
Can you bring a baby and a stroller to Don Gueo?
At Don Gueo the tables run in long rows, which makes it great for larger groups or family meals~
Visiting with a baby, I was so thankful they gave us plenty of room to comfortably park the stroller. There's a baby chair too! And they were thoughtful enough to set it up away from the grill so no oil would splatter on the baby.. wow.
What is on the menu at Don Gueo
Aged black pork belly, pork neck, pork jowl, gabrisal (pork skirt), and I heard they recently added makchang (pork large intestine) too!
There's dubu-jeolim style duruchigi (stir-fried pork) that's good any time, lunch or dinner, plus the lunch-only Jeju black pork set — quite a varied menu lineup~

📌 Jeju black pork set: ₩22,000. This set can only be ordered starting from two people. We ordered two servings. At first we planned to order more meat on top, but we were already full, so we stopped there haha.
The side dishes came out incredibly generous — my eyes went wide.
Bracken fern greens, fish cake, radish, kimchi, bean sprouts, and lettuce wraps! Such generous sides, very satisfying.
📌 Extra cheese: ₩3,000. Thick cheese that targets the younger crowd's tastebuds!
Does the staff grill the black pork for you?
Don Gueo doesn't always grill the meat for you, but when it's not busy and there's a request, the staff will grill it directly. Since we had a baby and seemed a bit flustered, the owner kindly came over and grilled the meat for us himself, huhu.
Next to the thick pork belly, they grilled bean sprouts, kimchi, and bracken fern too~! On the other side, onions and king oyster mushrooms! And sizzling away in the middle, myeoljeot (fermented anchovy sauce) — you have to have myeoljeot when eating black pork in Jeju~
📌 Steamed egg: ₩4,000. Fluffy, warm steamed egg — it just wouldn't be the same without it~!
180g of aged pork belly per person: enough for two
One serving of the Jeju black pork set comes with 180g of aged pork belly, and ordering two servings gave my husband and me plenty to eat until we were full!
Grilled golden brown and sizzling, so incredibly delicious, huhu.
My meat-connoisseur, meat-obsessed husband took one bite and immediately declared it delicious right there.
A wonderful ratio of meat to fat.. juices burst the moment it hits your mouth. Isn't this basically the best aged black pork belly out there.. If you're in Jeju you have to eat meat like this to say you've really experienced it!
It was also delicious eaten simply, topped with shredded green onion
Personally, the combo of grilled bracken fern and kimchi was the best
Pork kimchi stew and melted cheese that come with the set
The pork kimchi stew that comes standard with the Jeju black pork set was piping hot too, packed generously with tofu and meat.
With stew like that, a bowl of rice disappears in no time~
They also grill the soft cheese until it gets nice and chewy~ You drape the melted, stretchy cheese over the meat like a blanket and pop it in your mouth! Being able to eat the meat in so many different combinations made the whole meal that much more enjoyable.
If you're looking for a great restaurant in Sehwa, Jeju, or a black pork spot, I highly, highly recommend Don Gueo~!
