I was trying to figure out what to eat for lunch in Aewol, Jeju, and ended up at Handam Guksu Gwakji Aewol Branch (한담국수 곽지애월점).^^ It's about a 5-minute walk from Handam Coastal Trail and the Aewol café street, so it's a great spot for lunch while touring Aewol!!

Ocean view from every seat, and how fast Handam Guksu fills at lunch
Handam Guksu Gwakji Aewol Branch has an ocean view from every single seat, so you can take in the scenery of Handam Beach while you eat. The lunch hour filled up so fast that I couldn't photograph the whole interior, but Aewol's sea was visible right through the window.^^
At the self-serve bar, they set out radish jangajji (pickled radish) and kimchi — the kimchi is tasty too!
Handam Guksu menu and prices: pork noodles for 10,000 won
The signature dish is pork noodles, a Jeju classic. Rich bone-broth pork noodles are 10,000 won, and dongchimi bibim noodles (noodles mixed in chilled radish water kimchi broth) are also 10,000 won.
Beyond those, there's also mala pork noodles, dombe suyuk (boiled pork slices), handmade black pork tteokgalbi, and pork rice soup, among other menu items.^^
We ordered the most basic dishes — the rich bone-broth pork noodles and the dongchimi bibim noodles.
Rich bone-broth pork noodles, 10,000 won: a portion too big to finish
Handam Guksu's bone-broth pork noodles come with Jeju pork piled on top of broth simmered for a long time. After a short wait, our order arrived.
There was plenty of meat piled on top, so even just one bowl of noodles looked pretty filling, haha.
Heads up for the average adult woman: the portion is large. I left some, ugh.
I picked up the noodles and meat together, and had some of the warm broth in between bites.
The pork was way more tender than I expected, and since there are bean sprouts in the pork noodles, the crunchy texture was great too! Other places don't usually put vegetables in!!! haha
The noodles also seemed different from other pork noodle places — not too thick, a nice medium thickness, and the texture was really soft and delicate.
What do the 10,000-won dongchimi bibim noodles taste like?
Dongchimi bibim noodles come with refreshing dongchimi (chilled radish water kimchi) broth, a special seasoning sauce, and Jeju pork.^^
If a cool, spicy dish sounds better to you than hot pork noodles, the bibim noodles are a good choice.
It was cool and delicious~~^^ There's also something a bit different like mala pork noodles, plus dombe suyuk and handmade black pork tteokgalbi, so if you're visiting with a group, try ordering a variety of dishes!!
Is a 10,000-won bowl of pork noodles in Aewol worth it?
Handam Guksu Gwakji Aewol Branch was where I went for lunch in Aewol. For 10,000 won, you get a bowl of bone-broth pork noodles topped with Jeju pork^^ and the highlight is that you can see Aewol's sea while you eat~~~
