Hi, this is Three :) Looking for a lunch spot near Gangnam-gu Office Station where you can eat alone without any pressure?

This time my partner and I visited Cheongdam Kkatsu Gangnam-gu Office Station Branch. Apparently it started in 2015 as J's Table in Seolleung, ran for 10 years, and relaunched as Cheongdam Kkatsu in July 2025.

The menu centers on pork cutlet but also includes udon, rice bowls and more, and with unlimited rice refills you can eat a hearty meal — a solid restaurant near Gangnam-gu Office Station for solo lunch.

Cheongdam Kkatsu is on the 1st floor of SK Herb Blue, connected via an underground passage to Exit 2 of Gangnam-gu Office Station. You don't have to walk far outside, so it's an easy place to reach no matter the weather.

Open kitchen and roomy interior: does Cheongdam Kkatsu have group seating?

Walking into Cheongdam Kkatsu, the open kitchen where you can watch the cooking catches your eye first. The interior was bigger than I expected, and besides the regular tables there's a separate space for 6–8 people. The room can be booked through Naver reservations.

We visited around weekend lunchtime and there were already a lot of people eating. Solo diners and groups alike, so it seemed like an easy place to visit when looking for a solo-friendly restaurant near Gangnam-gu Office Station.

What's on the menu at Cheongdam Kkatsu?

Cheongdam Kkatsu is a pork cutlet specialty restaurant, but the menu options were much more varied than I expected. There's udon, salmon jang, shrimp jang, katsu-don, fish cutlet, and even seasonal summer specials, so you can order other dishes alongside the pork cutlet.

Looking through the menu, I picked the visually unique Aqua Pork Cutlet and the Mentaiko Bibim Udon. I'd never seen a dish combining bún chả with pork cutlet before, so I was curious how it would be put together.

Side dishes, self-serve bar and unlimited rice refills

At Cheongdam Kkatsu, basic side dishes are brought out first, and you can use the self-serve bar for any extra side dishes or sauces you need. It was convenient being able to add as much cubed radish kimchi and cutlet sauce as needed.

Cheongdam Kkatsu lets you refill rice yourself for free, unlimited. I actually saw a lot of male customers there, and if you're someone who likes to eat a generous amount of rice with your pork cutlet, this would make for a hearty meal.

How long is the wait for the Aqua Pork Cutlet and mentaiko bibim udon?

About 10 minutes after ordering, the Aqua Pork Cutlet and Mentaiko Bibim Udon arrived together. Both dishes came in generous portions, so the table filled up quickly.

I ordered the mentaiko bibim udon as a set that comes with pork cutlet. Rather than eating just one dish, being able to alternate between the udon and crispy pork cutlet made the meal feel well-rounded.

I popped the egg yolk on top of the mentaiko bibim udon and mixed everything together. It was on the salty side, so bringing over a bit of rice from the self-serve bar made it pair much better.

Trying the bún chả pork cutlet for the first time

The Aqua Pork Cutlet combines bún chả with pork cutlet, so the combination itself was quite unusual. Underneath there's rice noodles and cabbage, topped with a big pork cutlet and plenty of vegetables. You eat it with a sweet bún chả-style sauce drizzled on top.

For my taste, the sauce felt quite strongly sweet. Still, it was nice having pork cutlet, rice noodles, and vegetables all together on one plate — being able to eat several things at once.

How big is the pork cutlet at Cheongdam Kkatsu, and how does it taste?

Looking around, most people were eating the pork cutlet dishes. When it arrived, the cutlet was quite large — with rice, it was enough for a hearty meal — and it wasn't greasy at all, so I really enjoyed it.

Cheongdam Kkatsu is directly connected to the station, so it's easy to access, and the varied menu made it easy to choose what to eat for lunch. Being able to freely add rice, plus the relaxed atmosphere even if you come alone, makes it worth checking out if you're looking for a good solo lunch spot near Gangnam-gu Office Station.
