This is Manchi 💗 I had errands near Pyeongdong Station this weekend, and since it was that awkward hour when most places have their break time, finding somewhere to eat was tricky. Luckily Jinsim King Donkatsu Pyeongdong Branch runs with no break time at all, so I picked it for lunch 🤭♥️

Jinsim King Donkatsu Pyeongdong Branch is seriously, seriously spacious ‼️ With the Pyeongdong industrial complex nearby, it must be a great spot for coworkers to grab a meal together ⭐️ Honestly the parking lot is the biggest among restaurants in this area .. haha. And on top of that, no break time 🥹

How big is the restaurant, and what seating is there?

The inside of Jinsim King Donkatsu Pyeongdong Branch is just as spacious and airy. They've got tables for 2, tables for 4, and larger group seating, so it works for solo diners, dates, and family meals alike 🍀 During lunch peak hours this place is famous as a go-to spot near Pyeongdong Station, and I heard the wait can get pretty intense .. 👥👥👥

What's on the menu at Jinsim King Donkatsu Pyeongdong Branch?

The menu at Jinsim King Donkatsu isn't just donkatsu (pork cutlet) — there's kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup), udon, jjolmyeon (chewy spicy cold noodles), bibimbap, naengmyeon, rice bowls, and tteokbokki too, so you can drag along that coworker who says "donkatsu again?" hahaha 💦 I heard the kalguksu here is really good too .. 📢

I ordered through the tablet on the table and noticed a sign explaining there's a self-serve bar 💡 They're also running a Naver receipt review event that gets you a free drink, so give it a try 🤍

What's at the self-serve bar, and is it easy with kids?

From the basic side dishes — napa cabbage kimchi and pickled radish — to lettuce for wrapping your donkatsu ‼️ True to being the city of fried-lettuce-wraps .. they even have scissors, tongs, and kids' tableware ready, making it a great place to bring children 👶🏻👧🏻

And of course, clean baby chairs are available too

Sprinkled some pepper on it and took a big bite !! I'm officially calling this a must-visit near Pyeongdong Station. A great restaurant isn't about one great dish — the whole combination has to be perfect .. ⭐️

Cheese waterfall donkatsu: does the cheese last to the final bite?

🧀 The cheese waterfall donkatsu comes as one plate with rice, cabbage salad, sweet corn, and cucumber peppers 👍🏻 At first I thought, cucumber peppers? But a spot near Pyeongdong Station doesn't earn its reputation for nothing .. this combination is something else. Every donkatsu restaurant in the country should be required to add cucumber peppers from now on.

The moment the word "waterfall" is in the name, an ordinary amount of cheese just isn't going to cut it

haha ; totally satisfied 👍🏻 The cheese donkatsu was the dish my fiancé ordered, and the cheese really kept pouring out from the very first bite to the very last. Cheese waterfall donkatsu at this Pyeongdong Station favorite: approved

The cheese just kept going like this ; ♥️ The sauce was seasoned just right too — I'm only coming to this spot near Pyeongdong Station from now on ~

Jinsim jjol donkatsu: how big is the chewy noodle portion?

🍝 The Jinsim jjolmyeon donkatsu is what Manchi ordered — jjolmyeon plus donkatsu. Honestly, I ordered it because my fiancé wanted jjolmyeon ? lol I figured the noodles would come out as a small side, but no — what showed up was a full bowl packed with both noodles and vegetables. You could tell just from the color of the sauce it was going to be good, right ? The spicy, sweet, and tangy balance in this jjolmyeon was pure art !! This was textbook great jjolmyeon 🤍

This menu item isn't technically the king-size donkatsu, but it's still plenty big !! And really thick too. No tough spots at all, just soft to chew — a genuinely satisfying dish ⭐️ It's served Western-style with sauce poured over it, but the breading still stayed crisp, balancing beautifully with the tender meat 🫶🏻

They also gave a full bowl of cabbage salad haha. Maybe because "Jinsim King" is in the name, everything here comes in generous portions ‼️ This place is basically a sanctuary for guys .. 🪄

I'll say it again — the cucumber pepper combination is the best ⭐️

Packing up leftover donkatsu yourself

Since the donkatsu is so huge, they provide take-home containers so you can pack up leftovers yourself. Plus they even suggest ways to enjoy it at home ‼️ A katsu sandwich sounds amazing .. 🥹
