Time for a mood switch with a 2026 fall dye color! This time I went for a tone-down dye 🍂 My natural hair is on the bright side, so over time red tones had started creeping in and the color was fading unevenly here and there. I parked in the lot behind the building that day and walked in comfortably 👍

Inside the 200-pyeong salon and its private head spa room

The interior was really spacious ‼️ It's about 200 pyeong, so there was zero cramped feeling — clean and pleasant throughout.

And on one side there was also a separate head spa space. Unlike a typical Gwangju Hanam salon where everything happens in one open area, having a private space for head spa treatments was a nice touch 👍

Consultation: why level 6 matte brown was chosen for fall 2026

For this 2026 fall dye, what I wanted wasn't a color that went too dark or too black, but a calm tone that suits autumn!

My original hair color was roughly level 10, and it had been about two months since my last dye job. So honestly, it was already time for a root touch-up. But as the color faded over time, red tones came up, and in some spots it looked almost like there were bridges of a different color 🥲

Looking at it overall, the color wasn't even, so this time I decided to go with a full dye!

During the consultation, they explained that to get an even overall tone, it would be better to go a bit darker than my current color 🤔 So to match the autumn mood, I decided on a 6-level matte brown dye 🤎

How much a full color costs: 66,000 won event price

How the matte brown color was applied, step by step

They put caps on my ears and got right into applying the dye. Two people worked together quickly, so it went faster than I expected!

Sometimes that strong chemical smell during dyeing can give you a headache or make you feel uncomfortable, but the dye product used that day didn't have much of that smell at all ‼️ There was barely any of that harsh odor, so I could relax during the treatment 👍 * After the dye was applied all over, it was left to sit for about 20 minutes.

While waiting, they gave me coffee and snacks, so I got to spend the time relaxing ☕🍪

Scalp pack, aromatherapy and a neck massage at the shampoo bowl

Once the processing time was over, I moved to the shampoo room!

The shampoo was really refreshing 🫧 They also did a scalp pack along with it, and I got aromatherapy too!! * I actually felt something like a cooling sensation ❄️ After that, they sprayed a mist to give my hair some moisture 💧

And finally they even did a neck massage, which felt really good too 😌

The result: even tone and a neat cut

After the shampoo, they dried my hair and did a cut too ✂️ Rather than changing the length dramatically, they tidied everything up evenly overall, and combined with the dye, it gave a much neater look 😊

And here's the result I was most looking forward to 🍂 the 2026 fall dye color! The color came out evenly all over, right?! At first it definitely feels darker, but it's not a stifling all-black kind of dark.

Matte brown has this subtle khaki tint when it catches the light! Especially since before the dye, red tones were coming through and the color looked patchy in spots, after the dye the overall tone matched up and it looked much cleaner — I really liked that 👍

How did the matte brown look two days later?

And this photo isn't right after the dye — it's about two days later. It looks like it lightened just slightly compared to at first, right? Even so, it still kept a calm, dark tone overall, and the particular matte brown mood I had imagined settled in a bit more naturally.

Most of all, since it wasn't taken down to a pitch black, my face didn't look stifled 👍 If anything, with the overall hair color tidied up, my features looked a bit more defined too 😆
