Hello, this is Jeollado Ttulini. Today I'm reviewing Kkankkanhan Jokbal Main Branch, located in Cheomdan's Wolgye-dong, Gwangju.

Kkankkanhan Jokbal Main Branch is open daily from 16:00-23:30, with last order at 23:00. There's a parking lot right next to the restaurant.
Kkankkanhan Jokbal makes its jokbal fresh every day, boiling it each morning, and sells only what's made that day. Delivery and takeout start at noon, and dine-in seating opens at 16:00.
Kkankkanhan Jokbal sells jokbal, half-and-half jokbal, bossam, Sammi Bossam (pork belly, jowl, skirt), garlic bossam, cold jokbal, spicy jokbal and more! With such a wide main menu and plenty of side dishes too, steamed egg, makguksu (cold buckwheat noodles), and rice balls are apparently popular.
You can place a reservation order through Naver, which makes it convenient for group visits — book ahead and just show up! I'd recommend Kkankkanhan Jokbal Cheomdan branch for family dinners, get-togethers with friends, or work dinners. And you get to enjoy tasty ice cream and coffee after the meal too!

Kkankkanhan Jokbal is a certified model restaurant / listed among 2025's best restaurants in Gwangju~~
After finishing your meal here, you can have coffee made with Starbucks beans and ice cream. There's even an arcade game, which is such a nice touch~ The kids absolutely loved it~ some kids didn't even want to go home haha.
There's even a fire show outside the restaurant — let's go eat some jokbal~
How much is Sammi Bossam, and what we ordered
Today we came for bossam instead of jokbal! We ordered the limited-quantity Sammi Bossam for ₩47,000 and the Goheung fresh garlic sauce for ₩3,000.
Kkankkanhan Jokbal Cheomdan is running a receipt review event, and you can choose between a mini spicy bossam or a flying fish roe rice ball. Make sure to include the 'Cheomdan restaurant' keyword when you write your review!
Side dishes on the Kkankkanhan Jokbal table
When you order at Kkankkanhan Jokbal, the basic setting comes with doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), salad, bean sprout soup, pickled radish, dried radish strips, vegetables, doenjang, chojang (vinegar-chili sauce), salted shrimp, and garlic~

The bossam kimchi came in two big pieces, so we each had one~
Skirt, pork belly, and jowl each had a different texture — it had been a while since I had bossam, and it was delicious~
Is the 3,000 won Goheung fresh garlic sauce worth adding?
Definitely order the garlic sauce!! We actually went there for garlic bossam or garlic jokbal, but since they were selling Sammi Bossam that day, we added the garlic sauce to it instead! Such a good call. I'll have to go back for the garlic bossam and garlic jokbal next time. Thanks to the garlic sauce, it never felt greasy and I could keep eating!

Piled the garlic on generously, and it's not spicy at all!!
Perilla leaf, pickled radish, and garlic sauce together — such a perfect combo!! I ate so happily~ I used to come to Kkankkanhan Jokbal whenever I craved jokbal, but from now on I'm adding garlic sauce to every single menu item I order~ My husband enjoyed it too, which made me proud haha.

After finishing the meal, we headed over to the dessert corner next to the dining area~ Coffee brewed from Starbucks beans.
Two kinds of ice cream, too. The iced coffee comes in a really big cup, perfect for enjoying an Americano, and the ice cream isn't the cheap kind — it's really chewy gelato. Cookies and cream / blueberry flavors. Dinner was already delicious, but dessert made it perfect~~ If it had been daytime I probably would've had an Americano, but since it was evening, I had ice cream instead~
Yum on the ice cream~~ I didn't expect much but it was so good that my husband and I kept saying 'isn't this really good?' hahaha.. eating it in amazement. Next time I go to Kkankkanhan Jokbal in Cheomdan, I'll enjoy a good dinner and then dessert again~ Come try it for yourself at Kkankkanhan Jokbal Cheomdan, whether dining in, delivery, or takeout~~
