No-break-time weekday lunch at Gijang outlet restaurant: Bueokgan
In short
Bueokgan Restaurant, Shinsegae Simon Busan Premium Outlets is a Western restaurant on the 1st floor NORTH section of the outlet mall in Jangan-eup, Gijang, Busan. On a quiet weekday visit with her father after his hospital discharge, the writer ordered shrimp anchovy oil pasta, abalone cream risotto and basil margherita pizza, and all three plates satisfied. Because Bueokgan has no break time, it is an easy place to sit down for a meal at any hour of your shopping trip.

Last week, on a weekday, my dad had just been discharged from the hospital, so we headed to Shinsegae Simon Premium Outlets for a walk and some shopping. Being a weekday, it was nice and quiet for browsing. After wandering around for a while we got hungry, so we decided to head to Bueokgan Restaurant, a Western food spot in Gijang I've been obsessed with lately.

Inside Bueokgan: the dining room and YES Kids Zone

This Gijang lunch spot has a spacious, really pretty restaurant. The interior has a lot of atmosphere with plenty of accent points, so there were quite a few photo spots. And since it's a YES Kids Zone, it's a comfortable place to visit with kids too.

We took our seats too. First we decided to order, then look around a bit more.

I ordered the shrimp anchovy oil pasta, abalone cream risotto, basil margherita pizza, and a cola. I'm totally hooked on the shrimp anchovy oil pasta.

We started off with a sip of cola to cleanse the palate. Since it was a quiet hour, the food came out fast.
Abalone cream risotto at Bueokgan

This is the dish I ordered for my dad. The finely chopped abalone and cream sauce made with abalone innards had such a good soft, savory flavor. The fried enoki mushroom on top was delicious too.
Shrimp anchovy oil pasta at Bueokgan

Loaded with big shrimp and garlic chives, the shrimp anchovy oil pasta is my favorite dish at Bueokgan Restaurant, this Western food spot in Gijang. Spicy, salty, and packed with umami, this pasta is exactly the style that hits the Korean palate.

The shrimp are plump and big, so the texture really stands out, and you get that nice savory shrimp flavor too. Eating it with the chives, I remembered my sister-in-law saying it's clearly pasta but somehow feels like eating kalguksu (hand-cut noodle soup). I totally got what she meant~ haha

The seasoning soaks into the noodles perfectly, so the umami really comes through. This is a taste I'll keep thinking about for a while.
Basil margherita pizza at Bueokgan

The margherita pizza smells so good with all that basil. You could see how generous the basil sauce was, and as a basil lover I was getting excited before even taking a bite.

I picked up a slice and took a bite — the combo of cheese, basil, and tomato is a guaranteed win, as expected. The savory cheese with that fresh, clean aroma was so good.

Straight onto the next slice. This Gijang lunch spot's pizza is piled generously with cheese, and the dough is chewy too, making it even more savory and delicious.

You can put pasta on the crust or dip it heavily into pasta sauce and clear every last bit, down to the crust end~
