Jangyu taco bar in Gimhae: birria tacos and beer snacks, Holstaco
In short
Holstaco Yulha is a taco and burrito restaurant in the Yulha area of Jangyu, Gimhae, Gyeongnam. On a date trip from Jinhae, the writer ordered the burrito set (₩30,500) and added a maktaco (₩5,300) and a camaron (₩5,800), praising the soft shredded meat in the birria taco and the Doritos-based hollsnack. With plenty of two-seater tables and even a baby chair, Holstaco Yulha suits a date night or a casual beer-and-snacks stop.

Gimhae is closer to Jinhae than you'd think, so we go there on dates on weekends pretty often haha. There was a café I wanted to check out too, so while we were in Jangyu I stopped for lunch at 'Holstaco Yulha,' a taco spot in the area. Let me introduce it!
Holstaco Yulha opens at 11:30 and closes at 20:30. Last order is 20:00, and it's closed on Mondays — if Monday is a public holiday, it's closed on Tuesday instead. You can park right in front of the restaurant.

What kind of place is Holstaco Yulha? Location in Jangyu and takeout
You can tell it's a taco place just from the outside, right? Lol,, it really stands out,, and that's Holstaco Yulha. I heard Holstaco is a place people wait in line for in Daejeon! Most people eat in, but you can also order takeout through Naver Place hehe. Taking it to a nearby park to eat would be nice too~ (They don't do delivery, to keep the food quality up!)

Holstaco Yulha menu and our order: burrito set, ₩30,500
Here's the menu at Holstaco Yulha, a taco spot in Jangyu! There was a wide range — tacos, burritos, sides, drinks, alcohol — with well-packed taco sets and burrito sets too haha. We wanted to try a bunch of different things, so we ordered the burrito set (₩30,500), which comes with a chili burrito + birria taco (2pcs) + hollsnack + 2 soft drinks!
When I tapped into the set menu, I noticed the owner's thoughtfulness toward young diners too haha. You can ask for cilantro on the side, or have it left out entirely!

Interior and seating: good for a date, fine with a baby
The interior felt like every color that exists was gathered in one place lol. If this isn't a taco place, what is? The decor is done really well haha. My husband was like, what is this, Mexico...? Lol. There are lots of two-seater tables, so it's great for a date, great for a casual drink with a friend, and there's even a baby chair, so it works well if you're bringing a baby along too.
There's also a spot in the corner of the dining area where you can wash your hands haha. The owner's attention to detail really stood out~

The poster showing how to eat tacos the tasty way was so cute lol

You know you have to give up looking pretty while eating tacos, right? Lol. Since they get all over your hands, the restaurant has plenty of disposable gloves, wet wipes and tissues on hand, plus hot sauce!

What comes in the burrito set, and is it enough food for two?
The burrito set (₩30,500) we ordered arrived!! It's a chili burrito + birria taco (2pcs) + hollsnack + 2 soft drinks, and it's such a solid combo! If you want to try both tacos and a burrito, this set is perfect haha. The portion seems about right for two people!!
Birria taco: meat shredded along the grain that melts in your mouth
Since it's a taco place, let me introduce the tacos first~~~ This is called a birria taco, apparently a Mexican taco! Inside is meat shredded along the grain, with chopped onion and cheese.
They told us to squeeze lime over the sauce that comes with it and dip the taco in!
This place really earns its reputation as a taco spot,, so much meat packed in, and it was so tender. I kept going 'wait, what is this? Is this melting?' The meat can sometimes end up clumped and tough, but there was none of that here — it was genuinely soft. Even my dad, whose teeth aren't great, could eat this without worry, I think ㅜㅜ This might be the best taco I've had so far.

Chili burrito: rice inside, filling enough for a full meal
My husband's favorite, the burrito!! Haha. The burrito set includes a chili burrito~ It's filled with spicy chili con carne and rice, so it works well as a full meal! It looks small at first glance, but it's packed full inside, so it was really filling >_<
You're supposed to top it with the chili sauce they serve alongside, and the sauce wasn't spicy at all, which was nice. But for my spice-wimp husband, the burrito itself was slightly spicy. When I tried it I was like, what's spicy about this,,? Lol, that spicy.

Hollsnack: imported Doritos topped with carnitas
This one's called the hollsnack, and it's Doritos topped with carnitas meat, a special sauce, jalapeños and more!
This is seriously a beer snack,, they sell beer there and if I weren't on medication I would've ordered one on the spot ㅜ. The Doritos they use here are genuinely imported, so they taste better, and the toppings are so generous I kept mindlessly reaching for more. This would honestly be the best beer pairing,,?

Extra tacos we added: maktaco ₩5,300 and camaron ₩5,800
That's right,, it was so good that we got curious about the other menu items too lol. So we ended up ordering more tacos!!!

Maktaco: the easiest taco for Mexican food beginners
Maktaco (1pc) — ₩5,300. The look of it seemed familiar somehow lol. The moment I got it I thought, wait, is this a Snack Wrap?! You know a familiar taste is the scariest kind, right? It's a taco topped with a house-made beef patty, house-made sauces, and vegetables!

Cutting it in half, the cross-section looked really good,, the beef patty had a nice meaty aroma that made it even tastier. The vegetables and sauces were all delicious too, and if you're someone who's a little hesitant about Mexican food, I'd recommend starting with the maktaco here. There's absolutely zero intimidation factor with this one~~~ Thinking about it again now ㅠㅠ

Camaron: fried shrimp with house-made pickled onion
Camaron (1pc) — ₩5,800. Camaron is a taco topped with a spicy house-made sauce, house-made pickled onion, and fried shrimp!
I was so full that I just picked out one piece of fried shrimp to try, and it was genuinely tasty enough to eat on its own lol. It was seasoned nice and salty, so it went perfectly paired with the taco!
So the camaron basically became my husband's portion lol. He said the fried element could've been a bit greasy, but the house-made pickled onion cut right through it, and the pairing with the sauce was really good haha. Also delicious!
I hated to waste the leftover burrito, so I asked the owner if they had a bag I could take it home in, and they packed it up along with extra chili sauce too? Haha, their thoughtfulness impressed me all over again,,,,

Would I go back to Holstaco Yulha in Jangyu?
This taco spot in Jangyu was satisfying enough that I wanted to bring it back to Jinhae with me!! If I lived in Yulha, I'd be shuffling over in slippers for a beer here ㅠㅠ There are lots of parks nearby too, so with this cool weather, tacos followed by a walk would be perfect~
This is a subjective review, so please take it as reference only.
