Haeri-dan-gil bakery caramel financier at 1pm: Low & Sweet Bakery
In short
Low & Sweet Bakery is a baked-sweets and egg tart bakery café on Haeri-dan-gil in Haeundae, Busan. A 1pm visit brought a caramel financier, an egg tart, a lemon madeleine and a pistachio roll, and the caramel financier was the best bite of the day. Low & Sweet Bakery's egg tart, crisp outside and soft inside, ranked first among every egg tart tried so far.

Starting today, coffee only after meals!!! No more bread!!! And then I went, well, just today right? ㅡ.ㅡ and headed to Low & Sweet Bakery on Haeri-dan-gil. I'll quit tomorrow.
Low & Sweet Bakery: location, hours and the basics
Location: 1 Udong1-ro 38beon-gagil, Haeundae-gu, Busan, South Korea Hours: 8am–8pm
Haeri-dan-gil is seriously dripping with atmosphere. Feels like every shop here is built for healing vibes. This was my first time here and it was way more charming than I expected. A generous bakery owner who fills both my stomach and my soul.
This exterior looks like it's been selling nothing but baguettes for 150 years in some Paris back alley. So good~!

For a second I thought I'd love to live in a place like this. Though being a bakery is even better. Sweet before I've even eaten any bread. Is this gaslighting? Works perfectly. What is it about this that makes it so unbearably cute.
What does the inside of Low & Sweet Bakery feel like?

The inside of Low & Sweet Bakery has that cozy vibe of an English grandmother's kitchen who'd be knitting expertly with reading glasses perched on her nose. Weird thing is, it looks cluttered but never feels chaotic. That's a skill. If I tried that trick at home it'd just be a mess.

So many pretty little interior touches here and there — I spent forever looking around at every single item and taking photos even though the space is small. Full of things I'd buy right up if they sold them!

Not a single ugly one in the bunch. It's amazing how cute these little things become depending on where and how you place them. I want to take you all home with me.

Owner, please pull me a nice cup of coffee~♡ Half my mind already left my body from the coffee smell. Kept standing there, drawn in by the aroma, waiting.
What's left in the bakery case at 1pm?
Eat, eat, eat~!!!

It was around 1pm and already a lot of items had sold out. Still, the ones I love happened to be there, so I grabbed them right away. Lots of financier varieties, and more cookie types than I expected.

What's this? I looked closer — it said bakery time, and I read it as break time. Getting old, my eyes just read whatever they want now. My brain, eyes, and mouth aren't even in sync anymore. I keep saying and thinking things different from what I actually see, none of it under my control ㅡ.ㅡ
Caramel financier: the best bite of the day
Low & Sweet Bakery's caramel financier was the best thing of the day. It looked seriously sweet so I hesitated a bit, but the visual was overwhelming, and it's not even IMAX. It looked super sweet but tasting it, it was actually less sweet than expected and so good. The pastry was moist enough with no dry, chalky feel either. Nice~ You're today's best~!!!

Nothing's wrong with these, they're just getting a honey transfusion — the gorgonzola financiers. Sweet honey life, huh. But I don't like the funky gorgonzola smell so I skipped it. Though it was so cute I almost picked it up anyway. Gotta break the habit of choosing food with my eyes ㅡ.ㅡ

Why Low & Sweet Bakery has the best egg tart on Haeri-dan-gil
Ahh~ I'll say it boldly — Low & Sweet Bakery's egg tart is number one among every tart I've ever eaten. The outside shatters into full-on crispiness and the inside is beyond moist, straight into soft territory. Even people who don't usually go for egg tarts will change their mind after one bite. You might find yourself coming back again tomorrow. I'm calling it — best egg tart on Haeri-dan-gil.
I'll pretend I don't like fig financiers because loving figs makes me feel like I'm giving away my age. Just side-eyeing it for now. Planning to sneak in and try it another time. Basics are basics, though — plain is plain. Simple is best, that's the truth.
How the lemon madeleine and pistachio roll taste
Madeleine, madeleine~~ The lemon madeleine was the owner's recommendation and also on the best-seller list, so I grabbed it right up. You're coming home with me today~~ The refreshing lemon cream combined with the softness was exactly my type. The quality was so good across the whole lineup at Haeri-dan-gil egg tart spot Low & Sweet.

Ahh~! I'll save this one for next time. Today it's one bread per person only~!!! Such a hard decision ㅜㅜ
The pistachio roll is packed with pistachio cream through and through. You're coming home too~! The cream inside wasn't overdone, so the flavor stayed good all the way through. The topping on the cream also worked hard to boost the flavor. Not too sweet overall, smooth and clean tasting.

The croissants were already almost sold out. So annoyed I couldn't beat the sellout timing.
Look at these cookies. Looks like they got punched by fists from every direction, that dense texture you'd see in a slapstick soccer movie. Not even shrimp chips but my hands and feet both keep reaching for them anyway. So many cookie types I couldn't try that my stress is downright colorful.

Held out, held out, held out, and this is what I ended up picking. One bread per person, failed!!! I knew I'd fail the second I stepped in the door. Today's failure invites tomorrow's failure. So tomorrow's one-bread rule is probably going to fail too.

The outdoor terrace beside Low & Sweet Bakery
Low & Sweet Bakery has an outdoor terrace right next to the shop. If I'd had more time, eating out on the terrace would have been so nice. I didn't even know it was there until I spotted it on my way out. Such a cozy, green, snug spot. The kind of atmosphere where you'd expect a sleepy cat or dog to be napping, even when there isn't one.
Even the side space next to the shop is set up so well it doesn't feel like leftover space they just filled in — feels intentionally tucked away like that. So much charm packed in.
Toured around Haeri-dan-gil again after a while, looked around, scoped out where to go next time — great weekend!!! The Americano had a bit of acidity, which suited my taste just fine. I might be back for the egg tart again soon.
