Daegu café with four-person tables: weekday drip latte at Dento
In short
Dento is a brunch café at 42-5 Bongsanmunhwa 2-gil in Jung-gu, Daegu, with a bright, roomy interior where half of the six tables seat four people. On a quiet weekday afternoon the writer ordered a drip latte for 6,000 won and a set of five bite-size open sandwiches for 12,000 won, eating them course-style from left to right. The drip-only latte was light and nutty next to the sandwiches, and Dento was good enough that the writer, who paid in full, plans to come back.

Inside Dento, a brunch café in Bongsan-dong, Daegu

That already-famous, gorgeous exterior...! The kitschy standing signboard at the entrance is ridiculously cute too 🧡

How many seats does Dento have? Half are four-person tables
Once you step inside Dento, the light pours in so nicely! It feels wide and open, so it's great if you're tired of tiny cafés. There are 6 tables total, and half of them are 4-person tables. (Filing this away as a Bongsan-dong café with lots of 4-person seating...)

That black self-service bar table.. 🖤 The table's cool, but this blanket is also super cute and matches perfectly!

There are plates and napkins already set on the table! I was especially happy about the wet wipes — a brunch café essential that surprisingly a lot of places skip ㅠ.ㅠ

There's also a drawer with forks and knives ready to go -

All the chairs are cushioned too, so it's comfortable! I should bring my parents here since they love a comfy chair 😽

And I'd seen Dento in Bongsan-dong on Instagram a lot too, and the interior really is my style. 🥺 So I stopped by at an awkward weekday hour, and it totally paid off..

The restroom is out this way, and it was really clean.
Dento's menu and how to order

At Dento you order at the counter, and your order gets brought to your table - check the photo below for the full menu!

There's a solid lineup — various sandwiches, aioli baby potatoes, tomato soup, and even French toast. Lattes were also available to order!

· ᴏʀᴅᴇʀ ʟɪsᴛ · ¹ Latte 6.0 ² Five bite-size open sandwiches 12.0

Dento's latte is drip-based, 6,000 won
¹ Latte 6.0 — At first I didn't realize it was a drip latte, but something felt different, so I checked the menu and they only serve drip. 😽 But I love drip lattes too, so I really enjoyed it! It was clean and light, which paired well with the sandwiches. It leaned sweet and nutty rather than bitter, which I liked even more.

Five bite-size open sandwiches, 12,000 won: the order to eat them
² Five bite-size open sandwiches 12.0 — This open sandwich set is insanely photogenic! I picked it because it's easy to eat and lets you try a bunch of flavors ෆ
They tell you what each sandwich is, and interestingly there's a course-like order to eat them in. 🙂↕️ They recommend eating from left to right! Let me go through how each one tasted.

Pan con tomate - avocado smoked salmon - romesco roasted vegetables - shrimp rémoulade - truffle ricotta ε 🥐 ɜ ⁺ · 🥖 𖦹 Overall the combos of ingredients and sauces really worked together. The baguette was crisp but still easy to bite through. Felt like coming back from a nice Western restaurant! ! !

(For the record, I washed my hands thoroughly..)
Pan con tomate | fresh and tangy — a clean combo where the tomato's fresh, tangy flavor shines through. Eating it with the baguette made for a really clean pairing. Total appetizer vibes! 🍅
Avocado smoked salmon | soft and savory — the subtle smoky aroma of the salmon comes through.. 🥑 the salmon flavor is the kick within the avocado's softness. Salmon is always right..
Romesco roasted vegetables | deep, full flavor — personally the most memorable one! That orange sauce with the mushroom + broccoli combo.. 🙂↕️ I especially loved the fragrant mushroom notes. The sauce felt kind of Spanish, like something you'd pair with tacos, so I looked it up and it really is a Spanish sauce. Neat..
Shrimp rémoulade | creamy, springy — plump shrimp and crunchy celery, top-tier texture ෆ. As you bite in, there's a subtly tangy note in the mayo sauce so it's not greasy at all, a distinct flavor. I love shrimp so this sandwich made me really happy 🙂↕️

Truffle ricotta | heavy, rich flavor — cold, soft white cream + a deep truffle aroma. This one felt like eating bread with a delicious white pasta sauce. A heavy, satisfying way to end the course 🫢
Is Dento worth a visit? Final thoughts
Dento, with its calm atmosphere and pretty statement furniture. The interior vibe is great, and the coffee and sandwiches are both delicious, so I'm planning to come back 🤤 It's been a while since a new café opened in Bongsan-dong, and I was very satisfied. If you're looking for a good-vibe brunch café in Daegu, highly recommend!
