Yeongpo has that hip pojangmacha (outdoor tent bar) vibe. After dinner I wanted a drink, and my other half found this place. The atmosphere was fresh and fun, it'd been a while since I enjoyed a proper outdoor bar, and everything we ordered was so good I fell for it. Here's my warm, honest review of Yeongpo, a Korean-style bar date spot in Sinjungdong.

What we ordered at Yeongpo and what it cost
Draft beer x2 (₩2,900 x2) / zero-sugar cola x1 (₩2,000) / spicy-sour cuttlefish muchim (₩28,000). We stopped by Yeongpo for a nightcap, and a sweet-and-sour cuttlefish muchim with a cold draft beer sounded like the perfect way to head home happy — so we ordered it! Totally my kind of anju (drinking snack)!

What are the outdoor alley tables in Sinjungdong like?
Yeongpo stretches long down an alley, so the outdoor seating spills out into the car-free lane. I didn't come in knowing this, but wow — it'd been so long since I sat in a setting like this. So good, just so good~ That buzzing, lively atmosphere, extra nice after such a long time away from it. Is there a livelier spot for a Sinjungdong team dinner or date than this? Yeongpo, the Bucheon Sinjungdong Station bar that runs deep into the night^^
There's seating inside too, but in this good weather, outside is the best. The mood is completely different.
Draft beer at 2,900 won and the free nibbles
We were full, but craving a cold beer, so we swung by Yeongpo for a light drink. Our draft beer and zero-sugar cola arrived first, along with small plates and starter snacks.
One of my usual snacks was right here. I've had it from a huge bag before, so seeing it here felt familiar. This snack is tasty — a twisted cracker with a nice nutty flavor.
Drink after drink after drink — it would've been such a shame if we hadn't come~ The mood was so good that even with a full stomach, the drinks kept flowing. The draft beer was cheap too, which made it even better.
Tangy cuttlefish salad for 28,000 won: how big and how good?
The spicy-sour cuttlefish muchim (초회무침, a vinegary-spicy raw seafood salad). Once I saw this on the menu, nothing else registered haha. Once it hits a cuttlefish lover's radar, everything else is just letters on a page. Hahaha 😆
If you've ever prepped a whole cuttlefish yourself, you know it shrinks down a lot once cooked — but the cuttlefish in this muchim looked like it started out huge to begin with. It's thick too, so you really get that satisfying chew. A big cuttlefish alone is pricey, so for an anju dish, this price is pretty solid. Once it actually arrived, it was even more satisfying than I expected~ Highly recommend the spicy-sour cuttlefish muchim as a drinking snack 👍

Not sure if the snack was calling for more drinks or the drinks were calling for more snack, but what was supposed to be just one beer turned into two thanks to this dish. Haha.
Is Yeongpo a good spot for a date night in Sinjungdong?
Yeongpo, a Sinjungdong Station bar, scored a 👍 on atmosphere, 👍 on drinks, and 👍 on food — a place I'd definitely recommend for a Sinjungdong bar date.❤️ I left feeling energized, like I got a bit younger.
Each sliced piece of cuttlefish is thick and hefty, so it really delivers on the bite. If you love cuttlefish, love golbaengi muchim (whelk salad), or are craving something sweet-and-sour and Korean — this spicy-sour cuttlefish muchim is it!
As the night deepened at Yeongpo, it was reluctantly time to head home for tomorrow... A fun Sinjungdong bar date that left me feeling warm and satisfied.
