Ash brown dye and 2-week color fade at Myeongdong hair salon Yerideu

Hi everyone, it's Soy <3 Today I went to Yerideu in Myeongdong to get my hair dyed :) I used this place through Superchart and was so satisfied with the whole experience that I wrote up a really thorough review!! If you've got a hair appointment to make nearby, you should definitely stop by! The service was great and I was so happy with the result.

📍 Yerideu, 3rd floor, 26 Myeongdong 8-gagil, Jung-gu. It's only a 5-minute walk from Exit 8 of Myeongdong Station, so it's easy to get to!

Hair condition before the dye and the ash brown color chosen

I got a dye job and head spa done at Yerideu :) Here are the after photos and a mirror shot from before the treatment — before, my color was kind of patchy, a light brown. I was tired of that bright, red-toned brown, so this time I wanted to tone down the red as much as possible, but I also didn't want jet black hair with too much contrast, so

This is a photo taken from behind, before the dye! I told my stylist the vibe I wanted, and she showed me a color chart and made recommendations. In the end I decided on ash brown!!

How did the ash brown dye and clinic treatment turn out?

While the dye sat and I waited, they set me up with snacks and drinks :) The color turned out exactly how I wanted it, so pretty — I was really happy! After the treatment the tone looks more refined and darker than before, right? It's not stuffy or too dark, but the red is definitely tamed, so it looks much calmer and cleaner. I also got a clinic treatment done at the same time as the dye, and my hair stayed soft instead of getting dry and brittle. I was glad the damage wasn't severe even after coloring.

After the dye, I also got a head spa done, and it felt so refreshing from my scalp down through my whole body!!

During the head spa, you just lie back in a massage chair, so it felt like a full-body spa experience, and they even covered me with a blanket, which made it so cozy haha. They took care of my scalp so thoroughly that the whole time was really comfortable, and I felt like all my built-up fatigue melted away :)

Salon atmosphere and English-speaking service in Myeongdong

I also noticed a lot of international customers visiting the salon, and it was impressive how fluently the staff spoke foreign languages. It was interesting seeing foreign customers get their consultations comfortably, and all the staff were so kind that even as a first-time visitor, I felt at ease the whole time. The salon is also spacious and pretty comfortable, so I didn't feel cramped even staying a long time, and I loved being able to get dye, clinic, and head spa all done in one visit!

Two weeks after dyeing: color fade and root regrowth

Here are the after photos! I'd recommend this salon to anyone in Myeongdong who wants a calm brown color with the red tones tamed, or anyone who also wants a refreshing head spa 🤎 It's been about 2 weeks since I got my hair dyed, and there's still almost no color fade and my hair condition is still good!!

I took photos over a few weeks to see how the color was holding up, and it looks like it's sitting right between a dark mocha and ash brown, right? From a distance or a quick glance it might just look black, but when light hits it or in bright places, you can see the brown tone. Because black hair usually has such strong contrast, my face used to look more swollen before I put on makeup, but with ash brown that's not as much of an issue anymore, so I'm really happy!! I can't dye my hair every time it grows out, so I asked them to match a similar color for the roots too, and even as it's grown out a bit, it still looks similar, which I'm especially happy about 👍

That's my review after visiting Yerideu in Myeongdong today :) If you have a hair appointment near Myeongdong Station, or you're visiting while traveling, this is a salon I'd recommend.
