Seomyeon bakery, a 20-minute wait for fresh peanut bread: Daeshin

In short

Daeshin Peanut Bread Busan Seomyeon Branch is a peanut bread and egg bread bakery on Seojeon-ro, near Exit 6 of Seomyeon Station in Busanjin, Busan. Arriving at the 10:00 opening, the display case was still empty, so it took about 20 minutes to walk out with 45 freshly baked peanut breads (6,000 won) and two egg breads. Going closer to 10:30 means no wait at all, and Daeshin packs the bread warm, making it an easy stop on the way to the train.

I tried peanut bread here last time and was shocked at how much I loved it, even though I usually don't eat peanut bread at all! My husband especially loves it, so we came back.

There are so many foreign tourists in Seomyeon these days, and I loved that the menu board has English and Chinese labels too — nice touch haha.

Empty peanut bread showcase right at opening time

Can you buy peanut bread right at the 10:00 opening?

Last time I came, the showcase was already piled high with peanut bread, but this time when I arrived right at 10am, there was nothing out yet. Ugh.

Interior of the store while waiting for peanut bread to bake

When I asked, they said preheating and baking takes about 10 minutes, but I actually got mine a bit past 10:20. I was anxious about catching my train... If you want to be safe, I'd suggest coming around 10:30 rather than right at opening so you can grab it immediately.

Peanut bread being hand-baked in the open kitchen

While waiting I watched them bake — seeing everything made by hand, cleanly, in the open kitchen was reassuring.

Packed box of peanut bread with a drink

I also grabbed a drink from a favorite dessert shop nearby and rushed off to catch my train.

Peanut bread 45 pieces ₩6,000 / egg bread ₩2,000 x2

Last time I only tried peanut bread, 80 pieces of it, but this time I mixed it up with some egg bread too 😊

Peanut bread box with one corner left open on purpose

Since it was fresh and warm, they thoughtfully left one corner of the box open on purpose.

Warm egg bread and peanut bread in a box

It was a gift for my husband, but... how am I supposed to resist warm egg bread and peanut bread?? 🥹 The smell alone is irresistible. It's neatly packed in a box, so it's great to carry around or give as a gift!

Egg bread with the egg baked inside the batter

What does Daeshin's egg bread taste like?

Soft, fluffy egg bread. I like egg bread and buy it now and then — usually the street-stall kind has the egg poking up on top, but Daeshin's egg bread hides the egg inside the batter (?). That actually makes it easier to eat since it doesn't run everywhere, and the batter isn't too thick so it's not heavy, plus you get protein from the egg. Works as a snack or a light meal — good for anyone, any age. The grandparents behind me in line were buying egg bread too haha.

Cross-section of Daeshin egg bread cut in half

One was meant for my husband, but it's fine even after cooling. 15–20 seconds in the microwave, or 4–5 minutes at 160°C in an air fryer, and you get egg bread that tastes freshly baked again.

Peanut bread with a thin shell packed full of peanuts

Why Daeshin's peanut bread is so hard to stop eating

Ever since I tried it last time, I fell for this peanut bread — the thin, crisp shell packed edge-to-edge with peanuts is so nutty and addictive. The shell is basically just a supporting role... warning, it might trigger trypophobia lol. My husband, who doesn't even like sweets, especially loves this snack. Feels a lot more reassuring than regular cookies. The trap is that you just can't stop reaching for more, no portion control possible^^ It goes well with coffee, but it's especially great with milk! Next time I want to try it with the peanut latte they also sell. Nutty plus nutty equals extra nutty.

Guide for reheating and storing peanut bread

How to reheat and store Daeshin peanut bread

It can get a bit soggy over time, but reheating fixes that easily.

  • Air fryer at 180°C for 50–60 seconds, then let cool for at least 1 minute
  • Microwave: home unit 40–50 seconds, commercial unit 30–40 seconds, then let cool for at least 1 minute
  • Refrigerate for up to 2–3 days
  • Freeze for up to 4–7 days
  • Also delicious eaten as iced peanut bread

Final verdict on Daeshin Peanut Bread in Seomyeon

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you're looking for a tasty snack with a thin, crisp shell that maximizes the nutty flavor — lighter than regular cookies or bread, while still giving you the nutrition of peanuts — I recommend Daeshin Peanut Bread. The egg bread is also good as a simple meal paired with a drink. The packaging is neat enough for carrying around or gifting, and since it's near Bujeon Station, it's great to grab on your way to catch a train 😉
