Yesterday, I had some delicious octopus and drank quite seriously, so I felt like I needed a hangover cure... When I need one, I think of something spicy, refreshing, and soothing!!! So off I went in search of that food.
Parking and entrance at Hanchon Seolleongtang Bucheon Kkachiul Station Branch

As soon as I arrived, there was this big two-story building. You can park on the first floor of the building or in the lot on the right~ It’s super spacious, so parking is easy!! Parking problems are such a headache wherever you go, right?!? 🥺

The entrance is beside the first-floor parking lot, and the first thing you see when you walk in is a retro arcade game [₩500 per play]. There are also separate men’s and women’s restrooms in front of the second-floor restaurant entrance!! 👍
A spacious dining room with plenty of tables

The restaurant was huge!! There were lots of seats toward the back, by the windows, and along the aisle too!!! They take group reservations, and I thought this would be more than enough space, haha.

Each table has an induction burner~ I think it’s for boiling or reheating the cooked dishes! And every table has a little desktop fan too!! 👀
More than just seolleongtang on the menu

Starting with seolleongtang (ox-bone soup), there’s spicy seolleongtang, dumplings and tteokguk seolleongtang (rice-cake soup), ttukbul (bulgogi in a hot pot), gomtang, samgyetang, galbitang, and even naengmyeon... The cooked-dish section has all kinds of jeongol hot pots, steamed dishes, and bulgogi too 👍 I thought they only sold seolleongtang, but it was packed with so many dishes!!! 😳
Oni and I ordered one seolleongtang, one spicy seolleongtang, and a small order of kimchi dumplings!!
Side dishes and the unlimited-rice self bar
When you think of Hanchon Seolleongtang, its kkakdugi-style cubed radish kimchi and kimchi are seriously delicious!! I like this kimchi so much that I even add it to my delivery orders!! 😍
The self bar has unlimited rice, no less~ plus salt and chopped green onion. That’s it! 👍

And the ingredients’ origin—these days, you can’t help being sensitive about restaurant kimchi, right? The napa cabbage is domestic, while the red pepper powder is from China. It’s reassuring that the cabbage is domestic 👍
Seolleongtang served with the rice already mixed in
First, my seolleongtang arrived. The milky-white broth was loaded with brisket and chopped green onion!? Huh!? A bowl of rice came out too, but there was also rice already mixed into the soup..!! I thought, ah, that must be because I didn’t ask for the rice separately—then I spotted this sign beside the table!

So that’s why the seolleongtang varieties come with rice mixed in!! I didn’t mind at all, so I started digging in...!!!
You know when you load up one spoonful with kimchi, brisket, rice, and somyeon thin noodles?? 🥹 So good... The mild, refreshing seolleongtang broth just rushes in and clears you right out from the inside ❤️😍 The kimchi and cubed radish kimchi were so tasty too, I kept eating them 😻

Spicy seolleongtang that is very similar to yukgaejang
Now it was time for the spicy seolleongtang!! The first thing I thought when I saw it was, “Yukgaejang...?” Yep, the spicy seolleongtang tastes very much like yukgaejang!

It also has glass noodles, meat, chopped green onion, and a little beaten egg. But perhaps because it uses seolleongtang broth, it is spicy yet refreshing, exactly as spicy seolleongtang should be! The moment I ate it, I automatically went, “Khhhhh,” like an old man!! hahaha. The spice level is something even a person who can’t handle spicy food could try 👍 It makes your throat tingle just a little!! haha

Kimchi dumplings that get the basics right
And here are the small kimchi dumplings!! They were delicious kimchi dumplings that got the basics right 👍 I almost got a little more rice, but the dumplings filled me up, so I gave up!! Hahaha~
I’d only enjoyed Hanchon Seolleongtang by delivery before, so this was my first time eating in the restaurant! It was so delicious~ and Hanchon Seolleongtang has such a varied menu! From hangover cures to all kinds of meals, definitely give it a try! 👍
