Nueup-dong, Osan restaurant with a 3–4 person jjajang set: Dami Sik

In short

Dami Sik is a Korean-Chinese fusion restaurant in Nueup-dong, Osan, Gyeonggi, where the signature dish is dol jjajang (black bean noodles served on a stone plate heated to 300 degrees). On a weekend evening three of us — the writer, her husband and her father — shared the dol jjajang and gogi jjamppong set for 3–4 people (45,000 won) plus a mini yuringi (fried chicken with sauce, 8,000 won), and the scallion kimchi with the thick jjajang was the highlight. Dami Sik is an easy recommendation for a family dinner in Osan.

Signature stone jjajang photo at Dami Sik in Nueup-dong, Osan

Last weekend I went with Hyeonni and my dad to Dami Sik, a restaurant in Nueup-dong, Osan that's been on my list! I remembered the stone jjajang I had in Cheongpyeong a while back, and when I heard Osan had its own version served on a stone plate heated to 300 degrees, I had to go check it out right away!

Apparently they do fusion Korean cooking that blends Korean and Chinese styles nicely. Here's my honest review of Dami Sik, a Nueup-dong, Osan restaurant we left very full and happy from!

Where is Dami Sik in Osan, and what are its hours?

Dami Sik's exterior, interior and where to park

Exterior of Dami Sik with a clearly visible sign

Here's the exterior of Dami Sik! The sign really caught my eye haha

You can park beside the restaurant. From 11:30am to 2pm there's a no-enforcement window, so you can also park on the street out front!

Even though we went a bit late in the evening, there were a lot of customers. People kept coming in even while we were eating... I snapped a quick photo on our way out. The inside is clean and the chairs have storage underneath for coats or bags, which is nice!

At Dami Sik, they make the rice fresh right as you order — no wonder it tasted so good haha

Alongside Chinese-style dishes like stone jjajang, gogi jjamppong, and yuringi, they also have Korean dishes like pollack hot pot and beef tripe hot pot! Hyeonni isn't a fan of fish dishes like pollack hot pot, so we went straight for the stone jjajang. I wanted yuringi more than dongpo pork, so we added a mini yuringi to the stone jjajang + gogi jjamppong set!

  • Stone jjajang + gogi jjamppong set for 3–4 people (2 bowls of rice) ₩45,000
  • Mini yuringi ₩8,000

The side dishes were scallion kimchi, salad, and pickled radish. That scallion kimchi was legendary. Perfect match with the stone jjajang!

Mini yuringi: how much do you actually get?

The yuringi came out first!

Even the mini size comes with a pretty generous portion!

Yuringi pieces soaked in sauce

Such a gorgeous-looking yuringi... you soak the crispy fried pieces in the tangy sauce, take a bite, and—

A piece of yuringi picked up with lettuce

—so, so good. Juicy chicken on the inside! Eaten together with crisp lettuce and chili, it's magic~

Gogi jjamppong you simmer at the table

Next came the gogi jjamppong!

Dami Sik's gogi jjamppong topped with beef belly and seafood

It comes really loaded with woo-samgyeop (thin sliced beef belly), seafood, and bean sprouts...! You simmer it like a hot pot, then add the noodles!

These are the jjamppong noodles haha

And then came today's main dish, the stone jjajang!

Dami Sik's stone jjajang served on a hot stone plate

This one's got a wild visual too. And the portion is massive haha The whole point of stone jjajang is that sizzling, bubbling sound~ The staff mixes it for you, so there's no risk of burning yourself!

The stone jjajang, mixed up and looking delicious! It stays hot until the very last bite haha

Stone jjajang scooped onto a small plate

I scooped some into my small plate and ate it with the scallion kimchi — slightly sweet, thick jjajang noodles paired so well with it. Once I finished my share, straight on to the jjamppong!

Gogi jjamppong simmered with noodles added

We added the noodles and let it simmer a bit more! The combo of woo-samgyeop and bean sprouts was unbeatable. The noodles were chewy and springy~ The broth was a little rich but also refreshing, so it'd probably make a great hangover cure haha The moment I had a sip of the broth I thought, this needs rice, so I ate a bit of noodles and added some rice to the broth haha

Noodles, yuringi, and rice too... we ate really well! Since they have a 3–4 person set menu, this seems like a great spot for family meals!

A nostalgic gacha machine at Dami Sik's counter

When we paid, I noticed a nostalgic gacha machine at the counter! You should give it a try too haha

One-line verdicts from both of us

Hyeonni's one-liner: A stone jjajang unlike anything I've had before — thick, sweet, and rich!

Mini's one-liner: A hearty, reliable spot where everything is delicious across the board!

If you're looking for a Chinese-Korean fusion restaurant good for a family meal in Osan, I recommend Dami Sik in Nueup-dong, Osan~👍🏻
