Ansan café with fifth-floor city-view windows: Nyanya's fruit waffle

In short

Nyanya is a dessert café with two resident cats on the fifth floor of a building on Gwangdeok-daero in Gojan-dong, Ansan. On a weekday at 3pm, the writer and her sister ordered the seasonal fruit Hong Kong waffle for 15,000 won and two hot Americanos at 4,500 won each, sharing them at a wide seat with floor-to-ceiling windows over Gojan-dong. Fresh fruit keeps the waffle's sweetness light, and the two cats make Nyanya worth the trip.

Interior atmosphere of Nyanya, a dessert café in Gojan-dong

My sister and I were hanging out in Gojan-dong and stopped by Nyanya, an Ansan café, for dessert! I really love egg waffles, so I can never pass by a café with Hong Kong waffle on the menu haha. When I saw this one topped with seasonal fruit, I dragged my sister straight there.

Space inside Nyanya, a café with resident cats

The dessert was tasty, but they also have two cats, so it's an even better Ansan café for cat lovers. Nyanya is on the 5th floor of the building. At first I thought a 5th-floor café might be tricky to find, but surprisingly I found it right away.

You just take the elevator up, so there's no getting lost. Once inside, the first thing that surprised me was how spacious it actually is! It felt much bigger in person than it looked in photos.

The tables had plenty of space between them, so my sister and I could settle in comfortably without feeling cramped at all. The seating area and the cat area are somewhat separated too, which made it easy to relax. Best of all were the floor-to-ceiling windows — the openness was amazing. Being on the 5th floor means you get a sweeping view of the Gojan-dong skyline, and since we visited in the afternoon, natural light poured in and made the whole space feel really pretty.

We visited around 3pm, which was the perfect time for coffee and dessert. Sitting by the window looking out, I felt surprisingly relaxed even though we were right in the middle of the city. This place would work well for an Ansan date café or for anyone looking for a spacious spot to chat with friends for a while.

Nyanya's two cats and their treats

Nyanya has two cats! Honestly, the moment I walked in, I noticed the cats before the desserts. Watching them wander around the space, or just sit still, was so cute — this café is basically a cat-watching paradise.

They mention that if you write a Naver review, you can get cat treats, so there's the fun of feeding them yourself too. If you love cats, you might end up spending more time watching them than actually drinking your coffee haha.

Seasonal fruit Hong Kong waffle, 15,000 won: taste and portion

The menu had more variety than I expected — coffee, ades, teas, and desserts, so there was plenty to choose from. But since I came specifically for the Hong Kong waffle, there was no hesitation — I ordered the seasonal fruit Hong Kong waffle right away, along with two hot Americanos.

I really love egg waffles. So the moment I spotted Hong Kong waffle on the menu, I got so excited haha. A plain Hong Kong waffle would already be good, but with a generous pile of seasonal fruit on top, there was no way I could skip it.

The seasonal fruit Hong Kong waffle looked great the moment it arrived. The waffle was piled high with fruit, which made it photogenic, and the portion was good for splitting between two people.

The waffle's signature round, bubbly shape is adorable, and the texture — crisp outside, soft inside — kept me reaching for more. Topping each bite with a piece of the sweet, tangy fruit made it even fresher. Eating the waffle alone might get a bit too sweet, but with the fruit alongside, the combination worked really well.

How the waffle tastes with a hot Americano

And of course, sweet dessert calls for hot coffee! We both ordered hot Americanos, and they weren't too acidic — clean and nutty, which paired nicely with the waffle.

A hot Americano at Nyanya

A bite of sweet waffle followed by a sip of hot Americano — that's exactly my favorite café combo. You could visit Nyanya just for the dessert alone, but personally, the space itself was what really won me over at this Gojan-dong, Ansan café.

Who will like Nyanya in Gojan-dong, Ansan?

It's spacious enough not to feel cramped, the floor-to-ceiling windows made it a nice place to unwind while looking out at the view, and the two cute cats meant there was never a dull moment. Visiting with my sister at 3pm, chatting over Hong Kong waffle and hot Americano while cat-watching in between, felt like a truly relaxing afternoon.

What I loved most was getting to enjoy my favorite egg waffle style topped with seasonal fruit. Next time I'd like to try other desserts, but I have a feeling I'll end up debating and ordering the seasonal fruit Hong Kong waffle again haha. I want to see the cats again too, so I'm saving Nyanya as a place to revisit whenever my sister and I are back in Gojan-dong :)
