Went for a weekday date with my fiancé and had dinner at Pujutgan Saenggogi-jeom, a pork belly spot in the Haengdang Market food alley near Wangsimni Station. The pork belly was thick and juicy, grilled right on the cauldron lid by the staff, and we got to enjoy the meal menu (cold noodles, stew, noodle soup, nurungji) unlimited — so satisfying!

Inside, Pujutgan Saenggogi-jeom has a comfortable neighborhood BBQ vibe. Seeing how packed it was, it really felt like a hidden gem of Haengdang Market!

Large cauldron-lid grill set up on a table

True to being a Wangsimni cauldron-lid pork belly spot, every table had a big cauldron-lid grill already set up.

Window-side table with a large open window

Our seat had a big window open behind us, so a cool breeze kept drifting in. Felt like eating at an outdoor pojangmacha (street tent) haha, loved it ♥

Fresh Korean pork belly, 20,000 won, grilled by staff at your table

A plate of thickly sliced fresh pork belly and pork jowl

We ordered 2 servings of fresh pork belly and 1 serving of pork jowl. The meat's color was great and it looked thick and appetizing!

At Pujutgan Saenggogi-jeom, the staff grill the meat for you.

Potatoes, onions, mushrooms, garlic, and kimchi grilling alongside the pork

Potatoes, onions, mushrooms, garlic, and kimchi were also grilled alongside the pork belly, so there was so much more to eat besides just meat. Everything tastes good cooked in pork fat, am I right?

Thick pork belly turning golden brown on the grill

Being thick, the texture was definitely chewy and satisfying.

Adding kimchi, potatoes, onions, and mushrooms made it even more delicious!! Whenever the veggies ran low, staff noticed and refilled them without us even asking. Despite being busy with lots of customers, everyone was super kind.

It was so good we added one more serving of pork belly. Total 4 servings for us, the ever-adoring couple ^_^

What comes unlimited: cold noodles, janchi-guksu, nurungji and stew

Sign explaining the unlimited cold noodles, janchi-guksu, nurungji, and stew service

One thing you must try at Pujutgan Saenggogi-jeom: if you order meat matching your headcount, four meal items (cold noodles, janchi-guksu, nurungji, stew) come unlimited. Honestly I thought since it was free, the quality would be so-so, but I was surprised how delicious everything was!

A bowl of complimentary nurungji

Nurungji (scorched rice soup)

I was going to get regular rice but asked for nurungji instead. It saves money and felt easier on the stomach, even better!

Doenjang jjigae with tofu and enoki mushrooms

Doenjang jjigae and kimchi jjigae

You can choose between doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) and kimchi jjigae — we went with doenjang jjigae. It was delicious with plenty of tofu, enoki mushrooms, and potato — hard to believe it was complimentary. If you visit Pujutgan Saenggogi-jeom, you have to try the doenjang jjigae!

A bowl of dessert cold noodles

Dessert naengmyeon: chilled broth or spicy

The cold noodles were also really good quality. This is something you'd have to pay for at other places... the owner's generosity is amazing!
