It was Friday evening and I wanted to end the week on a delicious note, so I took my two kids out to a Gunpo Dangdong restaurant we'd heard good things about. My kids are the type who'd wake up from a dead sleep for pizza haha, so this time I picked Jagajebbang Seonmyeonghui Pizza, Gunpo Branch, known for making its dough in-house!
Where is Jagajebbang Seonmyeonghui Pizza, Gunpo Branch, and is there parking?
Jagajebbang Seonmyeonghui Pizza, Gunpo Branch is at 16 Yongho1-ro, Gunpo-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, across from the Yongho Village e-Pyeonhansesang Apartments in Gunpo's Dangdong neighborhood. It's open daily from 11:00 to 24:00.

It's not far from Dangjeong Station either, so it's easy to reach by public transit, and there's parking space nearby too, which made it convenient to visit by car with the kids :)

Inside the Gunpo branch: a spacious hall and a big screen
Once we got inside, the restaurant turned out to be much bigger than it looked from outside. The 4-person and 6-person tables were spaced out generously, so we could sit comfortably with the kids without feeling cramped.
There was a big screen mounted on one wall too, so it seems like it would be a great spot for beer and pizza while watching a game on match days. Being a Friday evening, there were plenty of dine-in customers, and takeout and delivery orders were coming in steadily too. The lively but relaxed atmosphere meant the kids settled in naturally, which I liked.
Dough kneaded and baked in-house at Seonmyeonghui Pizza

There's a reason 'jagajebbang' (self-baked/house-made dough) is in the name. Because they knead the dough themselves in-house, the texture is completely different from a regular franchise pizza place. Toppings matter, but personally, I think the dough is what keeps you eating without getting tired of it. It was just the right thickness — not too thin, not too thick — with a chewy texture that stayed alive all the way to the crust, so I could enjoy the pizza right down to the edge.

What we ordered: the pepperoni pizza

My kids love pepperoni so much that I didn't hesitate this time and ordered the pepperoni pizza! The moment it arrived, their eyes lit up at the sight of all that pepperoni piled on top. The amount of basic cheese was really generous too — lifting a slice and watching the cheese stretch out looked so appetizing.

True to its house-made reputation, the dough had a lively chewy texture, and the salty pepperoni paired well with the savory cheese — one slice in and you just kept reaching for more. It comes with garlic dipping sauce, parmesan cheese, hot sauce, pickles, and puffed rice snacks as standard sides, and the garlic sauce wasn't too spicy or sharp — sweet and mild — so the kids happily dipped their crust in it too.
Tomato pasta as a side dish

It felt a bit lacking to just eat pizza, so we ordered tomato pasta as a side. The rich, savory cheese flavor of the pizza and the tangy-sweet tomato pasta went surprisingly well together haha. Alternating between the two kept things from feeling too heavy and made the meal more filling! For the grown-ups, we had a glass of beer too — freshly baked pizza with a cold beer was just perfect for a Friday evening.

How the kids liked dinner at Seonmyeonghui Pizza

We usually eat pizza by delivery, but a freshly baked pizza at the restaurant was on a whole different level. The chewiness of the dough and the taste of the warm, melted cheese were incomparably better than delivery. The kids kept saying it was so good and reaching for more slices until they'd basically wiped out the whole pizza. We got to wrap up a Friday evening happily as a family, and I came home in a great mood.
They also offer a ₩5,000 discount on takeout orders, so if you feel like eating at home sometime, taking it to go is a great option! If you're looking for a family dining pizza place among Gunpo Sanbon restaurants or Gunpo Dangdong restaurants, I highly recommend this one. With a spacious hall, a relaxed vibe, generous toppings, and plenty of cheese, it was a Gunpo pizza restaurant that left the whole family satisfied! Next time I'll have to try another one of their pizza menus.
