Seongsu café for peach lattes and long chats: Biat Seongsu
In short
Biat Seongsu is a spacious two-story café near Seongsu Station in Seongdong, Seoul. On a weekday catch-up with a junior colleague, I had a croffle, tiramisu affogato, iced latte, and peach iced latte among roomy bench and sofa seating. Verdict: a comfortable Seongsu stop for dessert and unhurried conversation.

A really close junior colleague of mine went on parental leave. When we were both working, it was so hard to match our schedules, but while she was taking time off, we got the precious chance to meet on a weekday. So it was a long-overdue Seongsu date for just the two of us :) We figured we would eat something delicious, go to a café, and chat our heads off, so I looked for a Seongsu Station café with good desserts and ended up at Biat Seongsu.
A spacious two-story café within walking distance of Seongsu Station

It was within walking distance of Exit 1 of Seongsu Station, so it was a perfectly good place to arrange to meet. I had no idea there was a café like this in Seongsu.
More than anything, when I went upstairs and walked in, I loved that the space was much bigger than I had expected. There are so many pretty, popular cafés in Seongsu, but when you actually visit, some have tables packed tightly together or feel too small to sit and talk for long. This one definitely had room to breathe. It was genuinely comfortable, like finding a treasure in Seongsu.

With its high ceiling, wood-toned interior, plants placed throughout, and big windows, it kept that hip Seongsu atmosphere while feeling comfortable overall. The space between tables did not feel cramped, and there were bench and sofa seats too, making this a great large café in Seongsu for meeting a friend and talking for ages. We visited on a weekday, so it was even more relaxed, which I loved.

Ordering everything from croffle to tiramisu affogato
That day, we ordered a croffle, tiramisu affogato, iced latte, and peach iced latte. Since we had come looking for desserts at a Seongsu-dong café, it would have been a shame to leave after having only coffee, so we properly ordered dessert too.

A croffle that sent dopamine soaring from the first bite
First up was the croffle, which stole my attention with its looks alone. It looked so delicious, and the moment I took a bite, my dopamine absolutely exploded.

The croissant layers were still distinct, and the outside was baked to a lovely golden brown, which made it even tastier. It was easy to pull apart piece by piece, and it was such a satisfying dessert to have with coffee.

Soft, moist tiramisu affogato
Then there was another dessert that made me happy: the tiramisu affogato. The tiramisu came piled generously with soft-serve ice cream. There was plenty of powder over the smooth ice cream, and spooning up the cream gave it a wonderfully soft, moist texture. The harmony of coffee's pleasant bitterness and the ice cream was so appealing.

Peach iced latte for people who do not drink coffee
For drinks, we had an iced latte and a peach iced latte. I tend to order lattes whenever I go to a café, so I could not skip the iced latte. Its nutty flavor and moderate acidity went well with the sweet desserts too.
And then there was the peach iced latte I had been curious about. My junior colleague chose it because she has not been having caffeine lately. Sweet peach and smooth milk came together in a drink that would be a good choice even for people who do not drink coffee. She said it was especially good with a nutty dessert like the croffle 🥰🫶
Honestly, the café itself was lovely that day, but what I liked most was being able to sit with my junior colleague in Seongsu on a weekday and talk our hearts out without interruptions. When you are raising children and working, it is not easy just to sit in a café with someone close and talk without watching the time, so parental leave brought us this sudden weekday breathing room :) With its spacious interior and relaxed seating, it was a good choice for friends looking for somewhere to chat, or for taking a short break during a Seongsu date.
If you are looking for an accessible Seongsu Station café with great desserts, or a Seongsu-dong dessert café with plenty of space as well, definitely visit Biat Seongsu. I especially recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy cake and desserts all in one place at a large café in Seongsu. It was such a happy weekday Seongsu date: a proper catch-up with a close junior colleague at last, plus sweet desserts :)
