Seongsu dessert café with a bocado and coffee set deal: Bocado Butter

In short

Bocado Butter Seongsu Main Store is a bite-size bocado dessert café on Yeonmujang 7-ga-gil in Seongdong, Seoul. The bocado + coffee set costs 1,000 won less than ordering separately and comes with two cream sauces, and of the chocolate and butter caramel chosen here, butter caramel suited the crisp bocado better. With 8 pieces to share and a one-person bar table, Bocado Butter Seongsu works just as well for a solo café stop.

Today I visited Bocado Seongsu, a Seongsu dessert café. I've actually visited this place with my own money about three times before — it's a real favorite of mine, and whenever I'm in Seongsu craving something sweet, my feet naturally head this way.

Bocado Butter Seongsu: the entrance and what's on the menu

Bocado Butter Seongsu Main Store is a dessert café on the 1st floor of 11 Yeonmujang 7-ga-gil, Seongdong-gu. The storefront was decorated so cutely. There were great backdrops and props for photos, so it seemed like a lot of foreign visitors come here too. The European vibe right from the entrance had everyone snapping a photo before going in.

The menu wasn't just bocado — there was also a marshmallow sandwich, and various cream sauces you could pick to your taste. There were plenty of set menus too, perfect for enjoying a well-rounded, good-value combo.

The coffee lineup was varied too — beyond a regular Americano and latte, there were signature drinks like a coconut drink, banana latte, and orange-cano, so there was fun in choosing. They had a solid lineup of drinks that pair well with dessert, good for picking to your taste.

The cream sauces came in a huge variety — coconut, chocolate, coffee, butter caramel. If you write a receipt review, you can get one extra, so if you visit, make sure to take advantage of the event and enjoy a range of flavors!

Seating at Bocado Butter Seongsu, including a one-person bar table

Inside Bocado Butter Seongsu Main Store, the one-person tables stood out — they're set up comfortably like bar seating, so it seemed easy to come here for a solo café hang in Seongsu.

There were also small 2-person and 4-person tables, which looked great for visiting with a partner or friend.

Bocado is Spanish for 'just one bite,' and apparently the goal was to make a dessert that leaves a deep impression with just one bite. Since they prioritize the details of the dessert and say they keep researching and refining until they hit a perfect balance, I could feel that care and sincerity even before eating.

Text introducing the Bocado brand

There was a cute mirror off to one side, great for mirror shots. While my friend and I waited for our dessert, we sneaked in a little Instagram-vibe mirror selfie too.

What the bocado + coffee set includes, and the two creams

What I ordered was the bocado + coffee set, which came 1,000 won cheaper than the regular price and included two kinds of cream — the combo I'd most recommend, an absolute steal.

The bocado and coffee set laid out on the table

The bocado came with 8 pieces, easy to simply split with a companion, and finger-food sized so it fit neatly in one hand and was really easy to pick up.

How the bocado tastes: crisp outside, bite-size pieces

The bocado felt like a thin, crisply grilled crepe, with a sweet syrup-like taste on the inside. It was crackly crisp outside and chewy-sweet inside, a texture that instantly made me get why it's called 'the impression of just one bite.'

Chocolate or butter caramel: which cream matched the bocado better?

I picked two sauces, chocolate and butter caramel, and personally I felt butter caramel matched the bocado better. The buttery flavor and subtle caramel aroma blended with the crispy dough for a mouthful of pure sweet-combo bliss. The chocolate sauce was rich and heavy-sweet, perfect for a straight-up sugar fix.

The stylishly decorated store restroom

The restroom and sink at Bocado Butter Seongsu

I was honestly surprised at how stylishly the restroom was decorated — clean and tasteful.

A sink set up in-store for washing hands

Since it's food you eat directly with your hands, the store only had a sink set up for washing your hands. It really showed the owner's thoughtful consideration in letting people wash their hands right before and after eating. Being able to wash with warm water instead of wet wipes was hygienic and made things much more comfortable.

From the standout crisp-and-sweet texture of the dessert to the stylish interior, this place has it all — if you're looking for a special dessert café in Seongsu-dong, be sure to stop by Bocado Seongsu!
