The weather was lovely, and we wanted a change of pace, so I visited Jeongssi Hambak Baegot Branch, a Baegot restaurant known for its nice atmosphere, with my family. Beyond the ambience, the menu was so well rounded that it felt like an ideal spot for a family meal or a date.

Location and parking at Jeongssi Hambak Baegot Branch
We drove over, and the parking facilities made it really convenient. After parking on basement level 1 in the Orange Building, we took the elevator up to the second floor and spotted the restaurant right away.
A bright dining room in warm wood tones
The upscale yet warm wood-toned mood was apparent from the entrance, and it put me in a good mood before I even went inside.
As soon as we entered, the clean, orderly interior welcomed us.
The floor-to-ceiling windows made the restaurant wonderfully bright.

From hamburg steak to pasta: the menu
Once seated, we looked over the menu and found an impressively wide selection, from hamburg steak and pasta to pork cutlets, fried rice, and sides. This time, we ordered Jeongssi Hambak, Toowoomba pasta, kimchi fried rice, and assorted fried foods :)

Pre-meal tteokbokki and the self-service bar
Before the food arrived, they brought out complimentary tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) with water on a green marbled snack-shop plate full of retro charm. One bite brought back the familiar taste of the tteokbokki I used to buy at the stationery shop in front of my elementary school. The sweet, moderately spicy sauce had soaked nicely into the rice cakes, making it perfect for whetting our appetites before the meal.

The self-service bar was neatly stocked with kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi), pickles, and jalapeños, so we could take as much as we wanted.

Jeongssi Hambak and kimchi fried rice
At last, the main dishes we had been waiting for arrived.
Jeongssi Hambak
The signature Jeongssi Hambak we tried first was, as expected, excellent. I could see why it is called a standout spot for handmade hamburg steak in Siheung. The patty, made fresh every morning, was wonderfully tender and paired beautifully with the special hamburg steak sauce spooned over it.
I gently cut into the sunny-side-up egg with its runny yolk, then took a spoonful of warm rice, meat, and sauce together. The soft, rich flavors filled my mouth.

Kimchi fried rice
The kimchi fried rice we tried next is my child's favorite menu item, and once again, it did not disappoint.

The savory bacon and nicely fermented, tangy kimchi were thoroughly stir-fried so that they seemed to coat every grain of rice. The balance of savory and tangy flavors was spot on.

The mayonnaise drizzled on top softened the heat, and my child kept saying it was delicious while eating it all up.
Spicy Toowoomba pasta and assorted fried foods
Toowoomba pasta
The Toowoomba pasta that came next looked appetizing from the very first glance.
Its lightly spicy cream sauce cut through the richness typical of cream pasta, so we could enjoy it deliciously without getting tired of it until the last bite.
The shrimp in the pasta were so plump and springy that their texture was excellent too. This is a combination I will definitely think of whenever I want to enjoy tasty pasta and hamburg steak around Jeongwang-dong or Baegot, whether on a weekday or weekend!
Assorted fried foods
Finally, the assorted fried foods we ordered as a side were very generously composed.

The crisp fried shrimp became even more savory dipped in tartar sauce. The cheese balls were fun as well as tasty, with chewy cheese stretching out as soon as I bit in. The croquettes were moist inside, with the mild flavor of potato coming through clearly, making for a savory finish.
A Baegot restaurant I want to visit again

From the pre-meal tteokbokki to the mains and fried sides, this was a thoroughly satisfying meal without a single disappointment. We were happy to finish our meal together as a family amid the retro charm and cozy atmosphere. With great food, kind service, and cleanliness all in one place, I am definitely planning to come back soon to try the other menu items.
