Siheung Korean BBQ with staff-grilled pork: Hamdon Baegot
In short
Hamdon Baegot is a Korean BBQ restaurant in Siheung, Gyeonggi. I ordered cross-aged pork belly for 2 and fresh pork skirt meat for 1, with staff grilling, complimentary bone soup, and fresh minari. Hamdon Baegot is a great place to focus on juicy pork without the work of grilling it yourself.

On days when I’m especially low on energy and craving a hearty meat meal, I don’t want to sweat over a grill! So I went to Hamdon Baegot, a pork BBQ restaurant in Baegot’s central shopping district that’s known for its great-quality meat and grills everything perfectly from start to finish.

The name means “falling for meat,” inspired by the unforgettable meat I tasted in Hamdeok, Jeju, as a child. From the very first table setting, with more than 10 neat side dishes, complimentary bone soup, and fragrant fresh minari (water celery), it was simply impressive 👏 I ordered two portions of cross-aged pork belly and one portion of fresh pork skirt meat, and truly got to enjoy the meat at its best! The quality was honestly worthy of applause.

It is on the first floor of the Purple Building at Avenue France, Baegot’s main central shopping area, so it is easy to spot at a glance. A cute dol hareubang (Jeju stone grandfather statue) stands at the entrance, which made me feel as though I’d traveled to Jeju. Parking is always a concern in Baegot’s central district, but here you can use the Purple Building’s underground garage for free. The lanes and spaces are roomy, so even beginner drivers can park comfortably 👍 Just tell them your car number when paying after your meal and they’ll register it right away.
Water-aged meat at the entrance and a comfortable interior

The first thing that caught my eye as soon as I entered was the thick cuts of meat aging in a real aquarium! They use water aging, an underwater aging method that keeps the water temperature steady to reduce temperature changes and prevent loss of juices. Seeing the fresh meat for myself gave me so much confidence in its quality before I even ate it 👏
Inside, the air conditioning was blasting and wonderfully cool. There was none of the thick smoke or greasy buildup typical of a BBQ restaurant; everything from the floor to the tables was kept clean and comfortable.
The included table setting with bone soup and fresh minari

As soon as I sat down, they brought individually wrapped hygienic cutlery and cool, nutty hovenia tea, which made me feel very well looked after.

The lineup of accompaniments for the meat was spectacular: green onion kimchi, white kimchi, radish kimchi, shiitake mushroom sauce, wasabi, myeoljeot (salted anchovy sauce), and more!

What surprised me most was the complimentary bone soup and fresh minari 🥺 There was plenty of tender meat clinging to the large bone, so it was fun picking it off even before the pork started grilling. They also gave us a generous amount of fresh minari for free, even though other BBQ places charge extra for it—such amazing value.
Grilling the cross-aged pork belly and fresh pork skirt meat

Our order of two portions of cross-aged pork belly and one portion of fresh pork skirt meat arrived, and I immediately thought, “Wow, the meat quality here is seriously incredible!” It had such a fresh bright-red color and impressive thickness. Once the grill is hot, a skilled staff member cooks it perfectly from beginning to end, so you never need to pick up the tongs.

They carefully cut it into generous, easy-to-eat pieces, so I could relax and chat without worrying about grease splattering 🥰 They neatly placed the cooked meat on a dedicated tray so it would not burn, and even provided individual mini tongs that were easy to hold—such thoughtful service.
Chewy pork belly and clean-tasting pork skirt meat

I started with the beautifully browned cross-aged pork belly. The ratio of lean meat to fat was perfect; the juices burst out the moment I took a big bite, while the chewy skin had an absolutely amazing texture!

It was full of that rich, nutty flavor unique to Jeju pork. Dipping it generously in bubbling, salty myeoljeot or topping it with spicy green onion kimchi cut through any richness completely 🤍

And when you roll the meat up in fragrant fresh minari, its crisp texture and refreshing aroma come together so well that you never get tired of it.

The fresh pork skirt meat I tried next was exceptionally clean-tasting and chewy with every bite! A light dip in Hamdon’s special garlic sauce added a pleasantly sharp savory note to its rich meaty flavor. It was truly a standout dish.

Because the meat itself was so fresh and high quality, I focused purely on the pork without ordering rice. Even so, the juices and flavor left me feeling wonderfully full.
Finishing the meal with a spicy, refreshing broth
As we were finishing the meat, the bubbling broth on the table induction burner gave the meal a refreshing finish—it was perfect. From the thick, chewy aged pork belly to the springy fresh pork skirt meat, the meat’s own quality was truly outstanding, with not a trace of unpleasant odor.
