Baby-friendly kalguksu near Bundang Jesaeng Hospital: Gangnam Gyoja

In short

Gangnam Gyoja Bundang Seohyeon Branch is a kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) and gyoza dumpling restaurant on the 2nd floor of Dadu Plaza, between Bundang Jesaeng Hospital and Seohyeon Station in Seongnam, Gyeonggi. After a hospital appointment, two diners shared Gangnam Gyoja kalguksu at 10,000 won, gyoza dumplings at 11,000 won and bossam at 18,000 won, and the baby chairs and table kiosk made the meal easy with a child along. One bowl of kalguksu is filling on its own, but Gangnam Gyoja is worth the dumplings or bossam if you want a bigger meal.

Today I suddenly craved kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) so badly that after my appointment at Bundang Jesaeng Hospital, I went looking for a good spot nearby and found this place — Gangnam Gyoja Bundang Seohyeon Branch.

If you have business at Bundang Jesaeng Hospital or you're near Seohyeon Station looking for a warm meal, this could be a good reference. When you think Gangnam Gyoja, it's kalguksu and gyoza dumplings, right? The kalguksu is great, but the kimchi that comes with it is honestly so good that I crave it sometimes on its own. So here's my review of Gangnam Gyoja Bundang Seohyeon Branch, a kalguksu restaurant near Seohyeon Station in Bundang!

Where is Gangnam Gyoja Bundang Seohyeon Branch, and is there parking?

Gangnam Gyoja Bundang Seohyeon Branch is located at 208, Dadu Plaza, 10 Seohyeon-ro 210beon-gil, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si — on the 2nd floor of the building. Hours are 11am to 9pm, with a break time from 3pm to 4:30pm, and parking is available.

Gangnam Gyoja Bundang Seohyeon Branch is on the 2nd floor of Dadu Plaza. Parking is available, but since it's an elevator parking tower, I parked on the street instead.

After parking and taking the elevator up to the 2nd floor, the sign is visible right as you step out, so it wasn't hard to find inside the building. The restaurant was also more spacious and clean than I expected.

I visited while looking for a good place near Bundang Jesaeng Hospital, but it's also easy to reach from Seohyeon Station, so it should work well for anyone looking for a meal in the area.

Can you bring a baby to Gangnam Gyoja Bundang Seohyeon Branch?

Gangnam Gyoja Bundang Seohyeon Branch uses table kiosks for ordering, and baby chairs are also available, so dining with a child was possible. I could comfortably pick our menu on the kiosk.

And like us, if you're dining with a baby, baby chairs are ready, which made it fine for a family visit.

Gangnam Gyoja menu and prices: what we ordered

That day, the two of us ordered Gangnam Gyoja kalguksu (₩10,000), gyoza dumplings (₩11,000), and bossam (₩18,000). If you're at Gangnam Gyoja, the kalguksu is a must.

Search for kalguksu near Seohyeon Station and you'll find several dedicated kalguksu spots, but what's appealing about Gangnam Gyoja is that you can enjoy kalguksu and dumplings together. (Above all — guaranteed big-chain quality‼️)

Gangnam Gyoja kalguksu with gyoza inside

First up, the main dish: Gangnam Gyoja kalguksu. It comes with gyoza right in the noodle soup. The rich, deep beef-bone-based broth with soft noodles — one bite in and I thought, yep, this is Gangnam Gyoja.

Lifting up the kalguksu noodles

There's quite a generous amount of meat topping too. Eating the broth, noodles, and meat topping together, I kept wanting to mix in rice.

And I love finishing kalguksu by mixing in rice at the end. Mixing rice into the kalguksu broth made it a truly filling meal. (Rice is free — you should definitely mix some in.)

In this kind of in-between season, where it turns chilly then warm again, hot kalguksu like this just hits differently.

And of course, you can't talk about Gangnam Gyoja without mentioning the garlic kimchi. Eating it with the kalguksu cuts the richness, and the kimchi itself is so good I kept reaching for more.

Next is the gyoza dumplings. Gangnam Gyoja's gyoza dumplings are basically meat dumplings.

A plate of bite-sized gyoza dumplings

They're bite-sized, so easy to eat, and packed with filling — the more you chew, the more you get that clean, savory meat dumpling flavor. I personally love this bite-sized style of dumpling, and it's nice that you don't even need a small plate — you can just pick them up one by one.

A bite of kalguksu, then a dumpling — that combo was pretty great. If kalguksu alone feels like not enough, or you want to share a few different dishes, I'd recommend adding gyoza dumplings.

Gangnam bossam, 18,000 won

And that day we also ordered bossam (boiled pork wraps). Usually when it's just the two of us, we only order one kalguksu since the portion is generous — the Gangnam Gyoja kalguksu itself is quite filling on its own.

The bossam ordered as an add-on

But this time it felt like it might not be quite enough, so we added bossam. The price wasn't as steep as I expected for an add-on, and eating it together with the kalguksu made the meal much more substantial.

A full, hearty spread including the bossam

With hot kalguksu plus bossam, it really felt like a solid, filling meal. And honestly, getting some protein in alongside the kalguksu made me feel a little healthier too, haha.

Verdict: is Gangnam Gyoja worth it for kalguksu near Bundang Jesaeng Hospital?

Gangnam Gyoja Bundang Seohyeon Branch is a great spot to visit when you're craving hot kalguksu near Seohyeon Station, close to Bundang Jesaeng Hospital and Bundang Jeil Hospital.

The table and restaurant view after finishing the meal

The restaurant is clean and fairly spacious, so it was comfortable to eat in, and the food came out quickly after ordering. And of course, the kalguksu-and-kimchi combo is the best! If you're visiting as a pair, one kalguksu is plenty filling on its own, but if you want a more substantial meal, I'd recommend adding gyoza dumplings or bossam like we did.

If you're at Bundang Jesaeng Hospital looking for somewhere to eat nearby, searching for a warm meal near Seohyeon Station, or looking up the best kalguksu near Seohyeon Station, this place is worth a visit. It works well both as a spot near Bundang Jesaeng Hospital and as a satisfying kalguksu restaurant near Seohyeon Station. I think I'll be back the next time I'm craving kalguksu 😊 Recommending Gangnam Gyoja Bundang Seohyeon Branch!
