I was on the hunt for a proper Jeju black pork spot in Bundang and ended up at Jeju Monteurak Bundang Sunae Branch! If you're looking for somewhere to eat meat near Sunae Station, this one's worth keeping an eye on.
The chewy texture that's so distinct to Jeju black pork was great, but honestly what really got me was the juice bursting out of those thick cuts. 🐷
A Sunae Station BBQ spot with serious Jeju vibes

As soon as I got to the storefront, the huge Jeju Monteurak sign made it easy to spot. At the entrance there's a dol hareubang (stone grandfather statue), a "Hello Jeju" neon sign, and interior decor dripping with Jeju atmosphere! Even though I was smack in the middle of Bundang, it felt like I'd wandered into a black pork restaurant on Jeju Island for a minute.

The sign at the entrance reading "freshly caught Jeju pork belly" got me excited before I even walked in. There was also a notice about a free Jeju carrot cream fried rice with Naver reservations, so check that perk before you visit.
A spacious, clean interior at Jeju Monteurak Bundang Sunae Branch

Walking in, the place was bigger than I expected. The tables weren't cramped, and overall it felt clean for a BBQ restaurant!
Every table has its own smoke extractor, and tableside ordering meant we could order whatever we needed right from our seats — convenient. It looked like a solid pick for a company dinner near Sunae Station or a family meal or gathering in Bundang.
Jeju Monteurak menu and prices

What we ordered:
- Aged black pork belly 150g — ₩21,000
- Fresh black pork ribs 200g — ₩21,000
- Aged black pork neck 150g — ₩21,000
- Hallasan soju — ₩6,000
Instead of sticking to one cut, we ordered pork belly, neck, and fresh ribs to try a variety. If you love Jeju black pork, I'd recommend comparing several cuts like this too!
The banchan already had Jeju written all over it

Before the meat arrived, the banchan (side dishes) were set up and the spread was pretty solid. Lettuce, scallion salad, napa kimchi, assorted pickles, and sauces perfect for the meat were all laid out.
When the meat itself is genuinely good, you don't want to dip it in a million sauces — something simple like salt or wasabi that lets the meat's flavor shine works better. And that was exactly the case here.
Jeju black pork that's overwhelming just to look at

And finally, today's star arrived! Wow... you can feel the thickness even in a photo, right? 😍
Pork belly, neck, and fresh ribs all came out looking fresh in color, and the pork belly in particular had clearly defined layers of lean meat and fat. Black pork really does taste better thick rather than thin! The grill also had napa kimchi, asparagus, and mushrooms on it.
Sizzling away, that thick black pork

As soon as the meat hit the grill, that savory smell started drifting up. They browned the outside first, then cut it into bite-sized pieces and kept grilling — you could see the juices still sitting moist on the cut surface.
Even though it was thick, the outside was golden-brown and the inside stayed moist — just looking at it made my mouth water. And the first bite lived up to the hype.
Jeju black pork belly — this is the one to order

The one I enjoyed most was the aged black pork belly! The skin was chewy, the fat melted with a savory richness, and the lean meat had a moist bite — the texture was really great.
Chewy → savory → juice bursts!
Eating it sliced thick really let the distinctive texture of Jeju black pork come through. The browned fat wasn't greasy at all — more savory — so I kept reaching for more.
Aged black pork neck's charm is how moist it stays

The pork neck exceeded expectations too! Pork neck usually turns dry if grilled wrong, but here the juices stayed inside the thick cuts.
The more you chew, the more a clean, savory meat aroma comes through, with a soft bite. It has a different charm from the pork belly's savory fat, so it was great to alternate between the two.
And the black pork fresh ribs too
The fresh ribs had a savory flavor that built up the more you chewed. Each cut had a slightly different texture and taste, so it was fun comparing them one by one. Conclusion: glad we ordered all three. 😂
A bite of black pork with grilled napa kimchi!

And here's a combo I personally have to recommend: black pork + grilled napa kimchi + wasabi. Grill the napa kimchi lightly on the pan, put it on the meat, and add a dab of wasabi.
The tangy flavor of the napa kimchi cut through the savory richness of the black pork's fat perfectly. Right when a few bites in start to feel a bit heavy, this combo revives your appetite completely. The mushrooms, grilled golden in the meat fat, were also a nice treat.
You can't skip Hallasan with Jeju black pork!

You can't leave Hallasan soju out of a spread like this. 🍶 A bite of golden-grilled black pork, then a cold shot of Hallasan! I was clearly at Sunae Station, but for a moment it felt like drinking at a black pork joint on Jeju Island. A dab of wasabi on the meat, one bite, then a sip of Hallasan — that combo was really good.
Finishing clean with hijeok naengmyeon (₩7,000)

After eating your fill of meat, you need something cold to finish! We wrapped up with naengmyeon (chilled noodles) piled high with hijeok (fusiform seaweed).
The chewy, distinctive texture of the hijeok gave it a different feel from typical BBQ-restaurant naengmyeon, and the cold broth left my mouth feeling refreshed after all that meat. I'd also recommend saving a piece of meat to eat alongside the noodles. 👍
For when you're craving Jeju black pork near Sunae Station

Jeju Monteurak Bundang Sunae Branch isn't just about the Jeju atmosphere — what stuck with me was the flavor and texture of the thick black pork itself. Definitely recommended if you love pork belly! The chewy skin, savory fat, and moist lean meat all coming through at once in that thick pork belly, paired with grilled napa kimchi, made for a very satisfying meal.
The place is also spacious enough to work well for a company dinner near Sunae Station, a family meal, a date, or a gathering. On a day when you want proper Jeju black pork without actually going to Jeju, from Bundang, this place is worth remembering. 🐷❤️
