Seongsu Station burger restaurant: two sets and a milkshake at bd

Today I want to introduce bd Burger Seongsu, a burger restaurant in Seongsu-dong that I visited with a friend after a long while and left really satisfied.

Where is bd Burger in Seongsu, and what are the opening hours?

bd Burger Seongsu is located at 7 Seongsu-2ro 14-gil, 2nd floor, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, and is open 11:30–21:00 (last order 20:30). It's just a 6-minute walk from Seongsu Station, so it's very accessible.

Driving in Seoul is inconvenient so I always take the subway, and being so close to the station made it easy to stop by without any hassle.

Inside bd Burger Seongsu: second-floor seating and the self-bar

bd Burger Seongsu is on the 2nd floor of the building and gives off a cozy yet hip vibe — probably because of that atmosphere, I saw quite a few foreign visitors there too.

The self-bar and bussing station were well set up, making it convenient to grab whatever you needed for the meal. They even had hair ties available, so if you hate your hair falling in your face while eating like me, I recommend grabbing one!

You order through the tablet at each table, and once the food is ready you pick it up yourself at the counter.

What two people ordered at bd Burger Seongsu: two burger sets

We ordered two sets, with one drink as soda and the other upgraded to a milkshake for an extra charge. The milkshake had a rich, deep milk flavor that felt kind of like Sangha Farm milk — I really liked it. Apparently the soda comes with one free refill.

Our food took about 10–15 minutes, faster than I expected, and the fried items seemed to be fried fresh to order.

Why the eggplant & mushroom fritters were the surprise of the meal

When you actually eat the mushroom and eggplant fritters, the outside is crispy while the mushroom and eggplant inside are piping hot, so be careful not to burn your mouth. I don't usually enjoy mushroom or eggplant dishes, but these fritters here were genuinely a treat. Dipping the crispy fritters in the chipotle and ranch sauces made them irresistibly good.

How the Grilled Shrimp Avocado and Double Cheese burgers tasted

Both the Double Cheese Burger and the Grilled Shrimp Avocado Burger were packed full of fillings, and they looked incredibly appetizing.

The Grilled Shrimp Avocado Burger had more than 10 shrimp inside, and the shrimp had a proper grilled, smoky flavor. (I think we added extra shrimp, but I can't quite remember.) On top of that, it was loaded with avocado, onion, tomato, lettuce and other vegetables, so it felt fresh in my mouth the whole time I was eating.

The Double Cheese Burger didn't have many vegetables, but it came with two beef patties as standard, so the filling was just as hearty. Add cheese and bacon on top and it was like meat bursting in your mouth. It could get a bit greasy by the end, but since we split it in half, we didn't really notice any greasiness.

Butter garlic fries at bd Burger Seongsu

The Butter Garlic Fries were what I was looking forward to most — they're dusted with a spicy seasoning and then generously drizzled with my favorite butter garlic sauce, so there was plenty of sauce all the way to the last bite without it getting greasy. Just like the fritters, they were super crispy and salty right when they arrived, so I kept reaching for more.

Personally, I'd highly recommend the Grilled Shrimp Avocado Burger and the mushroom & eggplant fritters.

Is bd Burger worth it for handmade burgers in Seongsu?

At bd Burger Seongsu, the handmade burgers are thick and generously stuffed with fillings, and the side menu, especially the fried items, was really delicious. The mushroom and eggplant fritters were an unusual pairing with a handmade burger, but they went together beautifully, and each dish was fundamentally good on its own. The interior is clean yet has a hip atmosphere, drawing plenty of foreign visitors too — if you're looking for a great handmade burger spot in Seongsu, definitely give bd Burger Seongsu a try!
