Today I visited Degree Gojan Branch, a bakery café in Gojan-dong, Ansan ✨
What kind of café is Degree Gojan? The third branch of an Ansan local brand
Degree Gojan Branch is a bakery café located on the 1st floor of A-dong, 137 Gwangdeok-daero, Danwon-gu, Ansan-si, Gyeonggi-do. It's open 07:00–24:00 and offers 2 hours of free parking in the building's lot. Degree is a local Ansan brand with its first and second branches in Banwol Industrial Complex, and the Gojan branch I visited is its third ✨

I found out it's been an Ansan mainstay since first opening in 2014. Being right on the main road made it super easy to find.

It's also known for its fruit juice made with seasonal fruit, and since it's summer there was a poster for watermelon juice. They're also currently selling the trendy chocolate baguette.
Inside Degree Gojan: floor-to-ceiling windows, wood and black interior
Degree Gojan Branch is a large café with big windows facing the main road and generously spaced seating. The moment I walked in I let out a gasp — it was so spacious and clean. Honestly the cleanest café I've been to recently.

With the huge windows facing the street, sitting there leisurely on a weekday afternoon felt naturally healing. The space is spacious and the sunlight pours in nicely, making it perfect for enjoying a relaxed coffee.

The wood-and-black interior combo is so clean and stylish, I'd totally recommend it as an aesthetic café too.

There's a stereotype that aesthetic cafés have mediocre coffee and desserts, but Degree has a proper roaster, barista, and baker on staff — they roast their own specialty coffee and make French bread from scratch using French flour and Lescure butter. And honestly, both the bread and coffee were delicious!!!!!!!!! I wish my neighborhood had a café like this ㅠㅠ
When does fresh bread come out at Degree Gojan? Bakery menu and timing
The bakery at Degree Gojan Branch puts out different bread at different times, from 8am to 4pm. Since I visited around 4:30pm, not everything was available, but the pain au chocolat, croissants, and salt bread all looked incredibly tempting.

I'd planned to get the chocolate baguette when I walked in, but it was sold out, so after some deliberation I picked the last remaining fig cream cheese baguette. If you want to enjoy the best bread, I'd recommend checking the schedule below before you visit.
- 8am: croissant, pretzel, scone, baguette, jambon-beurre
- 9–10am: brioche, chocolate escargot, 3 kinds of croissant, sausage pastry, chive cream cheese bagel
- 11am–12pm: salt bread, 2 kinds of ciabatta, baguette, kouign-amann (weekends), fig pain, Dubai chocolate baguette
- 12–1pm: jambon-beurre, arugula cream cheese
- 3–4pm: croissant, brioche, chocolate escargot, baguette, salt bread, sausage pastry, jambon-beurre, arugula

For sandwiches, there's ham cheese basil, chicken cranberry, and bacon egg — a local Ansan friend told me Degree's sandwiches are among the best they've ever had haha. If you're looking for a great sandwich spot, go to Degree~~
Degree Gojan drink menu and the coffee of the month
The drink menu at Degree Gojan Branch is really varied, including a full specialty coffee lineup.

Degree's own specialty coffee menu features September's coffee: Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Koke Honey Natural.
- Americano (Oasis beans) ₩5,300
- Watermelon juice ₩6,500
- Fig cream cheese baguette ₩9,500

Here's what I ordered ⭐️⭐️

Since I was hot and sweaty from walking there, I ordered an iced Americano and watermelon juice to cool off.

Iced Americano with Oasis beans, ₩5,300
Degree lets you choose your beans for the Americano, and I picked Oasis, which has some acidity. Oasis is a blend of Colombian, Guatemalan, and Ethiopian beans. At first I noticed a nutty flavor, but as the ice melted slightly the acidity came through, and just like the description said, it had that clean, crisp coffee taste.

Watermelon juice made with real watermelon, ₩6,500
The watermelon juice at Degree Gojan Branch was made with actual watermelon, not syrup. At independent cafés I've often been disappointed by watermelon juice made with syrup instead of real fruit, but Degree's was the real deal — sweet, with real chunks of watermelon in it. It was more refreshing and delicious than the watermelon juice at Ediya, which is famous for it. The portion was generous too, so I was very satisfied.

Fig cream cheese baguette, ₩9,500: what it tastes like
When I ordered the fig cream cheese baguette, they cut it into 4 easy-to-eat pieces for me.

Inside the baguette were butter and stewed fig — it looked simple, but wasn't greasy at all, and had a sweet, nutty flavor that kept me reaching for more. Personally I'm not a big baguette fan since they're usually too hard, but Degree's baguette was surprisingly soft?! The sweetness was just right too, so as a fig lover I was satisfied.

After visiting in person, it was immediately clear why this bakery café is so well known in Ansan. The coffee, watermelon juice, and baguette were all delicious. Also worth noting, the afternoon sunlight streams in beautifully, so you can get some great photos, which makes it a perfect date spot in Gojan-dong, Ansan.
