Birthday lettering cake with bunny design, unmanned pickup: Circus
In short
Circus Rabbit is a made-to-order lettering cake shop in the basement of Jangmi Complex near Jamsilnaru Station in Songpa, Seoul. For a birthday, the writer ordered a Happy Rabbit design with birthday lettering, picked it up unmanned, then brought it home to add candles and taste. The cake was as cute as the photos promised, with a moist sheet and a not-too-sweet, classic fresh cream taste.

When a birthday or anniversary comes around, sometimes you want something a little more special than a plain cake. This time, hunting for a cute lettering cake for a birthday, I ended up reserving one from Circus Rabbit in the Jangmi Complex near Jamsil.
I went with the Happy Rabbit design — a cute rabbit on top! I picked it for the design alone, but when I actually got it, it was even cuter than the photos, and it tasted good too once I ate it at home, so let me walk you through it.
Finding Circus Rabbit without getting lost in Jangmi Complex
Before visiting, I'd read a few reviews saying it's hard to find Circus Rabbit inside Jangmi Complex, so I was a little worried. But going there myself, it really wasn't difficult at all. Just walk from Jamsilnaru Station toward Jangmi Jonghap Complex and find Exit 8 of Building B.
I looked up Circus Rabbit on Naver Map and walked from Jamsilnaru Station Exit 3, passing this stretch of street stalls.

Turn right toward the complex and keep walking, and Jangmi Complex Building B comes into view!!

Cross the street and walk up just a bit, and Exit 8 appears!

Go in through Exit 8, head down the stairs to the basement level, and Circus Rabbit is right there — I found it without any trouble at all. Since Jangmi Complex itself is an older building, the entrances can be a bit confusing on your first visit, but don't overthink it — just remember 'Building B, Exit 8' and you'll be fine.

Lettering cake designs and the Happy Rabbit reservation
Plenty of designs to choose from, depending on your taste
Circus Rabbit had a variety of cake designs. From clean lettering to cherries, flowers, colorful designs, and cute character styles, there were quite a few options. Among them, I reserved the Happy Rabbit design ahead of time, thinking it would suit a birthday well. With the lettering added, it felt like a one-of-a-kind birthday cake — perfect for a special occasion.

How does unmanned pickup work?
According to the shop's signage, unmanned pickup was possible. You confirm the reserved name and the last 4 digits of the phone number, pick up the cake, then close the door, lock the hinge and padlock, and send a pickup-complete message via Circus Rabbit's KakaoTalk.

If you need candles, you could buy them separately at the shop and pick them up together.

100% dairy cream cake — storage and transport notes
Circus Rabbit says it uses 100% dairy whipping cream and house-baked cake sheets. The signage also noted no emulsifiers, preservatives, or chemical additives. They recommend eating the cake the same day and keeping it refrigerated; if you can't finish it that day, it keeps in the fridge until the next day.

Also, since there's no separate cake anchor pin, they recommend placing it on a flat surface like the passenger-seat floor when transporting it by car. Since it's such a pretty lettering cake, be extra careful moving it after pickup!

Finally meeting the Happy Rabbit lettering cake
I checked out the cake in person while picking it up — wow, this was genuinely cute....!

In the middle of the pure white cream cake was a soft, subtly spreading pink, and on top sat a rabbit with rosy cheeks.

Surrounding it were pink and pearly decorations plus white cream trim, so the overall color scheme was really pretty. And right in the center, the birthday lettering I'd requested!

It was packaged in a cake box with a clear window and a pink ribbon handle, which looked lovely too. It's definitely a good visual to keep as a birthday cake memory.

Birthday party starts at home!
I carried it home carefully, and after dinner we properly started the birthday celebration. With the candles stuck in, the cuteness went up another level — this is exactly why you order a lettering cake.

How does Circus Rabbit's fresh cream cake taste?
Honestly, what I was most curious about when ordering a lettering cake was the taste. The design can be pretty, but sometimes when you actually eat it, the cream is too sweet or the sheet is dry and disappointing.
Inside were layers of yellow cake sheet and white fresh cream. Tasting it, it was exactly the classic fresh cream cake flavor I'd hoped for! The sheet wasn't dry at all — moist and soft — and it paired well with the cream layered in between. The cream wasn't the type where sweetness hits you hard; instead, the moist sheet and soft cream came together in a well-balanced way.

Honest final verdict
A place that nails both a cute design and a good fresh cream cake taste! I originally chose Circus Rabbit for the cute Happy Rabbit design, but the visuals were definitely there, and the harmony between the moist sheet and the not-too-sweet cream was great too. Unmanned pickup made it easy to grab my reserved cake conveniently. Circus Rabbit wasn't just a pretty-looking lettering cake — the taste held up too, making it a satisfying choice for a birthday cake :)
