Earl Grey canelé and orange juice at LOOOP Bakery in Seongsu

I went to a bakery café in Seongsu!

I had some delicious dessert and drinks at LOOOP Bakery in Seongsu.

LOOOP Bakery is a hip café famous as a dessert spot in Seongsu.

Dior Seongsu is right next door, so it's the perfect date course — take photos at the photo zone and stop by the pop-up store too.

The moment you walk in, you see a clean white-toned café, so I quickly grabbed a seat and ordered.

I liked being able to check out each type of bean one by one. As befits a Seongsu bakery café, there are lots of bread varieties. I was glad to see so many vegan bakery items — vegan chocolate cookie ₩2,900, vegan Earl Grey cookie ₩2,900, vegan protein muffin ₩3,900, vegan pound cake ₩3,900.

They also sell crunchy brownie cookies, levain cookies ₩5,700, sweet black sesame soft cookies ₩5,000, palmier ₩8,000, chocolate egg tart ₩5,900, pastry pin apple muffin ₩6,500, LOOOP New York bear roll matcha oreo ₩8,000, and more.

There were also lots of savory bread options — plain salt bread ₩3,500, garlic cream cheese salt bread ₩4,500, condensed milk salt bread ₩4,000, avocado ham croissant ₩9,500, jambon-beurre croissant ₩8,500, sausage danish ₩8,000, ribbon croissant, and more.

Inside LOOOP Bakery: white interior and seating

The exterior already had that Seongsu feel, but the inside of the café is even more hip.

There's a good variety of tables and a big window, making it a pretty café for photos too.

From window-side tables to group tables, there's a nice range of seating setups.

How do the Earl Grey canelé and natural orange juice taste?

My order of drinks and canelé arrived. Being a bakery café, there were several kinds of baked pastries, and I picked the Earl Grey canelé.

An Earl Grey gateau is lightly placed on top of the canelé.

The canelé was crisp outside and moist inside, with the Earl Grey aroma spreading subtly through it — delicious.

For drinks, I ordered an iced americano and a natural orange juice.

The orange juice, made from fresh squeezed oranges, tasted like it burst the moment I drank it. The orange pulp was still there whole — delicious.

The americano was strong, which made it the perfect pairing with the sweet canelé!
