Magok Station pork fine dining, tomyum pork belly for two: Don Tamguso
In short
Don Tamguso is a pork fine-dining restaurant on the first floor of a building near Magok Station in Gangseo, Seoul. A couple booked the reservation-only dinner course and worked through chestnut and button mushroom cream soup, prosciutto and dried persimmon salad, white ragu lasagna, roast pork tenderloin, and grilled pork belly with tomyum sauce and minari, then finished with the signature burger and abalone risotto. Ordering one of each main dish and sharing them turned out to be the smartest move of the night.

Hi everyone, it's Geumi 💙 When a special occasion or weekend date is coming up, I always end up in a search spiral: "where's somewhere with a great vibe this time?" If the usual beef omakase or Italian restaurant is starting to feel a little repetitive, pay close attention to today's post. This is a place I fell completely in love with — the taste, the atmosphere, even the service were perfect. Here's my honest review of the dinner course at Don Tamguso, a pork fine-dining spot near Magok Station, for a change of pace that still feels luxurious ✨

What is Don Tamguso near Magok Station like inside?
Don Tamguso is a pork fine-dining restaurant on the first floor of a building near Magok Station. The moment you approach, the modern, sleek interior catches your eye. It really is the kind of place where a private dining experience begins the second you open the door.

As soon as we stepped in, both my husband and I gasped, "Wow, this atmosphere is insane!" The lighting and mood are perfect for scoring points on a date or anniversary.
We'd made a reservation ahead of time, and sure enough, our name was written out by hand on the table!

Starters at Don Tamguso: chestnut soup and prosciutto salad
The Don Tamguso course opens with a chestnut and mushroom cream soup. Sweet and savory, it gently soothed our empty stomachs.

Next came the prosciutto and dried persimmon salad — the sweet-and-salty balance of tangy orange and salty prosciutto really woke up our appetite.

The white ragu lasagna, with rich sauce packed between chewy noodles, was especially memorable —

the stretchy mozzarella cheese combined with the smoky house sauce made for an absolutely fantastic flavor.
The mains: roast pork tenderloin and tomyum sauce pork belly
Don Tamguso's first main is a pork tenderloin, and the second is pork belly served with minari (water dropwort) and tomyum sauce. The tenderloin, the true centerpiece, was crisp outside and tender inside!

It came with pickles, which paired perfectly with the meat. Whoever cooked it clearly knew what they were doing — it was so tender, I nearly teared up.

Just a light dip in salt and it melted in our mouths. Then came the second main, the pork belly —

paired with fragrant minari and an exotic tomyum sauce that perfectly cut through what could have been a greasy dish.

Eating it wrapped with the minari was the best way to enjoy it!

Burger or risotto? How to pick the main dish at Don Tamguso
For the main dish, Don Tamguso lets you choose between a signature burger and a signature risotto. We decided to order one of each and share — and honestly, that was the smartest move of the night!

Don Tamguso's signature burger

Sweetly caramelized onions combined with a juicy house-made patty!
Don Tamguso's signature abalone risotto

Wando abalone, popping barley, and fragrant bangpungnamul (glehnia root greens) came together in an incredible texture!

My husband and I split both and asked each other, "Which one's better?" — but honestly, neither of us could decide, because both were so good we would've regretted picking just one. If you go, definitely order one of each and share!
And then the finishing pudding! Sweet and delicious, haha.
