I had some delicious shabu-shabu near Seoul Station ☺️ This time I visited Yunseul's Seoul Station branch! It's located in Grand Central, right by Seoul Station, so it's easy to find, and on top of that, the restaurant is clean and has a pretty view through the floor-to-ceiling windows — the atmosphere was great the whole meal 🤍
I thought this place would be great not just for shabu-shabu lovers, but also for anyone looking for a date spot near Seoul Station or a restaurant for a group meal near Seoul Station. Here's my honest review after visiting Yunseul's Seoul Station branch ☺️

Finding Yunseul on the first floor of Grand Central

I went inside Grand Central, a 2-minute walk from Seoul Station Exit 4, to find Yunseul's Seoul Station branch.

The overall clean look of the restaurant made a good first impression! When you're looking for a place to eat near Seoul Station, a lot of the restaurants around there cater to office workers, but Yunseul had such a clean atmosphere that it seemed fine for a date or a gathering too ❣️
Inside Yunseul: floor-to-ceiling windows for dates and group meals

Once inside, the restaurant was bigger and cleaner than I expected. And what I really liked was the floor-to-ceiling window view! ✨ Being able to see outside through the big windows meant there was no stuffy feeling, and it was nice to look at the scenery outside while eating.

Maybe that's why it felt like a place where you could enjoy the atmosphere, not just eat. If you're on a date near Seoul Station and looking for somewhere to eat, this could be a good Seoul Station date spot, and it also had a nice atmosphere for meeting friends or eating with family. It seemed especially good for people looking for a clean place to eat in a group — family gatherings, wedding invitation meetups, or other group meals.

Luggage storage and high chairs at Yunseul
Maybe because it's near Seoul Station, there was a separate space for storing carriers! For people eating before catching a train or after coming back from a trip, carriers can be kind of a hassle, so having a space like this is great 🚅

Baby chairs were also available, so families visiting with kids should be able to eat comfortably too.

Anchovy broth for two, 48,000 won: extra meat instead of jeon

We ordered the clear anchovy broth for two that day!

The set for two comes with jeon (savory pancake), but since we tend to eat a lot of meat lol, we decided to swap the pancake for extra meat instead! If you're going for shabu-shabu, you've got to eat plenty of meat 🤣

There was a wide variety of vegetables and the ingredients all looked good overall. Fresh vegetables matter a lot for shabu-shabu, and these looked clean and solid 🥬

They boiled the broth first and then added the vegetables. This was the anchovy broth we ordered! Personally, I found this broth pretty delicious. It was clean-tasting but still had depth, so it worked well with the shabu-shabu ingredients, and as we added meat and vegetables, the broth just got richer and richer!!!

And I was really glad we added the meat lol. When two meat lovers go together, the basic set for two can feel a little lacking, but with the extra we ordered, we were fully satisfied!

Yunseul's Seoul Station branch also has 3 kinds of sauce, so you can enjoy it however you like ><. Simmering the vegetables and meat together bubbling away — shabu-shabu really is love 🤍
Hand-cut kalguksu noodles in the shabu-shabu broth

You can't skip the noodles at the end of shabu-shabu! After finishing the meat and vegetables, we added hand-cut noodles (kalguksu) to the remaining broth 🍜 And maybe because the anchovy broth was so good, the noodles were delicious too!

The broth had gotten richer than at the start from all the shabu-shabu ingredients, and adding the noodles on top made for a warm, filling finish. I always make sure to eat a finishing dish like noodles or porridge when I have shabu-shabu, and this time was no exception lol.
Finishing with bulgogi kimchi fried rice
And the last thing we ate was bulgogi kimchi fried rice! 🍚 We'd already had noodles, but you know there's always room for fried rice, right? lol

With bulgogi and kimchi mixed in, this fried rice was a great way to finish off the shabu-shabu meal. In the end, from the extra meat to the vegetables, noodles, and fried rice, we walked out completely full 🤣

Eating like this really felt like a proper meal!

And since it's right near Seoul Station, I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a place to eat before or after catching a train. If you're craving good shabu-shabu at Seoul Station's Grand Central, give Yunseul's Seoul Station branch a try ☺️
