(Partly self-funded) Eating in the restaurant is nice too, but this time I wanted to have a relaxed crab party at home in comfy clothes, so I went with takeout instead. To cut to the chase — I was completely satisfied ✨

As you can see, the tank is kept really clean, and this is a place where you can enjoy fresh snow crab and red crab at reasonable prices! I'd recommend calling ahead or reserving your takeout order so you can pick it up right away without waiting!! I booked in advance through Naver Reservations and then visited.

What I bought was the 100%-yield bakdal crab set with 2 crabs. My boyfriend and I were visiting Pohang and thought, let's eat crab~ so we stopped by, and got crab + seafood + spicy stew + review seafood ramyeon. Since red crab is currently under a fishing ban, the seafood ramyeon is substituted with clam ramyeon!

Isn't the sashimi and seafood prep area genuinely clean too? Honestly, a market can feel a bit local and not necessarily associated with cleanliness, but this place is so tidy,,,,,,,

📦 How the snow crab takeout is packed

I waited about 20 minutes to pick up the order, and the whole drive home, the delicious crab smell filled the car and I had such a hard time resisting eating it right there ㅠㅠㅠㅠ When I got home and opened the box, it was a styrofoam container neatly packed to keep the steam and warmth in, and even though the trip took a while, it hadn't cooled down at all — the warmth was still there!

Opening the bakdal snow crab at home: how much meat is inside?

Finally opened the lid for a face-to-face with the real crab!!!! Looking at the legs, the meat yield was really packed full. Everything was already cleaned and prepped, so I could just eat right away. There was also conch, shrimp, and spicy stew on the side!

The conch and shrimp were so fresh and delicious that I kept saying — isn't this basically a soju thief? 🍻

And the long-awaited highlight: Russian bakdal crab 🦀 Every leg was prepped so it was easy to pull the meat out, and the roe wasn't fishy at all — rich and creamy, and just as its name suggests, the crab was packed full of meat and absolutely delicious.

Crab roe rice needs no introduction, but we wanted to make it extra special — true food lovers pour in sesame oil generously, add plenty of seaweed flakes, mix it all up, and shape it into a rice ball ❤️🦀👍 With the roe packed into the shell mixed with rice, seaweed flakes, and a drop of sesame oil, stirred together — it was seriously the ultimate rice thief!!!!
