Today I'm introducing a really special meat restaurant I found in Bongmyeong-dong, Cheongju! It's called Anmin Cheongju! The address is 1F, 40 Deokam-ro 12beon-gil, Heungdeok-gu, Cheongju, Chungbuk, and it's open daily from 16:30 to 23:00.
I love pork so much that I've been to all kinds of places, but Anmin Cheongju left a deep impression across the board — taste, atmosphere, and service! Especially since the staff grilled the meat for us directly, it was even more comfortable and delicious! Let me give you the full rundown now~
Where do you park at Anmin Cheongju?
Anmin Cheongju has parking secured in front of the building, so it was convenient to visit by car! Just park along the residential road in front of the building.

Parking is such an important factor when visiting a good restaurant! Thanks to the parking area, I could walk in comfortably without any parking worries!

Side dishes and the 3 sauces on the table

We had a reservation — do you see this nice touch??? They covered the basic side dishes for us beforehand!

Each table has its own individual grill, so you can enjoy a hygienic and private meal! There's also storage space under the chairs for your belongings, making great use of the space!
Anmin Cheongju's basic table setting is really impressive! The neatly arranged side dishes make your mouth water just looking at them!

If you're curious what these side dishes are, this should help!

Cabbage salad! It goes so, so well with the meat!

All three sauces paired so well! The salt was especially delicious!!

In particular, myeongi namul (mountain leek pickle), green onion kimchi, white kimchi, and cabbage salad were served, all a perfect match with the meat, letting you enjoy a variety of flavors! Plus, barley ssamjang, shiitake wasabi, hairtail jeotgal (salted hairtail intestines), fish sauce, and cheese fondue sauce were all provided to maximize the meat's flavor depending on your taste!
Whole pork belly grilled by the staff at your table

We ordered Anmin's signature dish, the pork belly! The thick-cut belly is characterized by its bright reddish color and even marbling!

The staff placed the meat on the grill and cooked it with expert skill! The golden-brown pork belly was crispy outside and moist inside, holding rich juices!

They cut and grilled the meat for us directly, which was so, so convenient and nice!

Once the meat was cooked, they moved it onto a separate plate with a lit candle underneath, so it stayed warm until the very end!

Ta-da~ Doesn't the pork belly look so thick and delicious?

For my first bite, I dipped it lightly in pine flower salt to taste the meat's natural flavor! A rich, savory taste spread through my mouth — excellent! It went well with all the sauces, so try dipping it in a bit of everything!

Next, I wrapped it in myeongi namul with a bit of shiitake wasabi, and the pungent kick of the wasabi cut through the pork belly's richness for a fantastic combination! Piling meat, rice, green onion kimchi, and garlic onto a lettuce leaf for a big wrap filled my mouth with happiness~
What does the premium egg soufflé stew taste like?

The egg soufflé stew, served brimming in an earthenware pot, is overwhelming just to look at! With its soft, fluffy texture, the egg stew isn't overly seasoned, giving it a clean, mild flavor! Topped generously with savory sesame seeds and green onion for extra flavor, it's served hot, making it the perfect pairing with the meat!
Is Anmin Cheongju worth a visit?
Anmin Cheongju was satisfying on every front, from the sophisticated interior to the care put into the table setting! In particular, the premium pork grilled directly by the staff left a deep impression with its rich juiciness and tender texture! If you're looking for a delicious meat restaurant in Bongmyeong-dong, Cheongju, I strongly recommend Anmin Cheongju!
