Paju Heyri pizza restaurant: gorgonzola risotto, Mokushura Table

In short

Mokushura Table is a large Western-style restaurant with a European-style garden inside Heyri Art Village in Paju, Gyeonggi. On a visit with a child, the order was scallop oil pasta, margherita pizza, and beef tenderloin gorgonzola barley risotto, and the margherita pizza was the dish the child ate most of. With a second-floor kids' playroom, a reading space, and baby chairs, Mokushura Table is an easy choice for a family meal after a walk around Heyri.

On a nice day we went for a drive-and-stroll around Heyri Village with our kid, and as we walked around we got hungry and started looking for somewhere with good vibes — that's how we found Mokushura Table, a Paju Heyri restaurant, which I'll introduce now~~

Mokushura Table hours and why it works with kids

Mokushura Table is open every day from 11:00 to 21:00, with last order at 19:30. Phone: 070-7724-8100.

  • A family-friendly space with a kids' playroom and library facilities
  • A large space with high ceilings that feels wonderfully open
  • Book-café-style interior and an outdoor garden

European-style exterior in Heyri Art Village

Mokushura Table sits inside Heyri Art Village, so it's the kind of place you naturally wander into while strolling. The building is quite large, so I could spot it from a distance.

Even from outside, the beautiful building with its European-style garden caught my eye right away.

Inside Mokushura Table: garden-view first floor, kids zone, rooftop

You enter through a large iron door that feels like the entrance to an old European building.

Step inside and you find the first floor, with high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows that let in bright light and a garden view.

On a nice day there's also outdoor seating, which looked great for enjoying a cup of tea.

European-style sculptures and a chandelier added to the atmosphere, and the garden view outside was so beautiful I almost felt like I was in Europe.

Go up to the second floor and you find a family-friendly space with big windows that make the most of the light and the view outside.

A space where you can read books together with your child

There's an area where kids can take off their shoes and play, a thoughtful touch for guests visiting with children like us.

Simple toys are provided too, which made it a hit with the kids.

This cloud-shaped light was our kid's favorite — she kept begging to reach up and touch it, haha.

The third floor has a wide-open view that's really something, plus a rooftop space that would be great for a date.

True to being a family-friendly restaurant, they had plenty of baby chairs on hand.

For a modern café, I didn't expect to see this kind of respect shown toward soldiers, police, and firefighters — a nice touch.

What's on the Mokushura Table menu

There's a range of set menus plus pasta, pizza, risotto, and coffee & drinks.

Scallop oil pasta, margherita pizza and gorgonzola barley risotto

We ordered scallop oil pasta, margherita pizza, and beef tenderloin gorgonzola barley risotto, along with a zero-sugar cola to drink.

First up, the scallop oil pasta. It came with big, plump scallops, and being oil-based it wasn't greasy at all — clean and easy to eat. A subtle garlic aroma came through, and the more I chewed, the more savory depth it had.

Next, the margherita pizza. The dough was thin yet crispy, so after one slice I kept reaching for more. The balance between tomato sauce and cheese was great — not sharp or overpowering, just clean flavor. This was the dish our kid ate the most happily.

Last, the beef tenderloin gorgonzola barley risotto. The rich, distinctive flavor of gorgonzola paired with tender beef tenderloin made every spoonful feel satisfying. Using barley gave it a fun chewy texture, and it stayed delicious right to the last bite without ever feeling too heavy.

The house-made pickles were made uniquely with radish greens included, which helped cut through the richness even more.
