This time I ordered two things: the BAS Burger and the Wasabi Mayo Shrimp Burger. The BAS Burger is a classic-style handmade burger with a beef patty, real cheddar cheese, house sauce, butterhead lettuce, onion, and tomato — sticking to the fundamentals.

With the first bite, the patty flavor comes through first, and the veggies, cheese, and sauce combo works well together in a balanced way — the kind of taste that reminds you a classic burger just has to be good, haha. If you want to really taste the meat patty rather than a burger loaded with bold flavors, BAS Burger is probably the better fit.

On the other hand, the Wasabi Mayo Shrimp Burger I was curious about definitely had personality. With wasabi sauce and teriyaki sauce, plus a shrimp patty and onion rings added in, the bite is much more textured! Against the shrimp burger's naturally light flavor, the wasabi mayo comes through with a slight kick, but it wasn't as overpowering as I expected, so it was easy to enjoy without any burden. On top of that, the sweetness of the teriyaki sauce adds a sweet-and-salty, slightly spicy combination — personally, this one stuck with me more.

BAS Burger or wasabi mayo shrimp burger: which one?

If you like a classic handmade burger, go for the BAS Burger; if you like shrimp burgers and unusual sauce combos, I'd recommend the Wasabi Mayo Shrimp Burger! If you're visiting with someone else, ordering one of each and splitting them in half would be a good idea too.

The flavors are completely different, so eating both together was actually less repetitive and more fun, haha. And in between bites of burger, grabbing some of those thick fries from the self-serve bar makes it perfect! These fries especially go so well with beer, so it'd be ideal not just for lunch but for a light burger + fries + beer after work too.

Burger prices have gotten pricey these days, so it's disappointing when a meal ends up just okay — but BAS Burger satisfied me, with tasty burgers and fries you can properly enjoy on top.

It's easy to eat lunch here alone, works well with coworkers too, and after work it's great for a burger with a beer.
