Sweet potato pizza with kids near Seokchon Lake: Pizza Face Off
In short
Pizza Face Off Seokchon Lake Branch is a pizza restaurant with outdoor tables on Baekjegobun-ro 41-gil in Songpa, Seoul. With the outdoor seats full on a Friday evening, we took a wide table inside with the kids and ordered the non-spicy sweet potato pizza (L) and draft beer. The kids finished the whole large pizza thanks to the light dough, and the draft beer came at just the right temperature, so next time the two of us are coming back for the outdoor tables.

We stopped by Lotte World Tower's Seoul Sky, then took a walk around Seokchon Lake, and before we knew it, it was dinner time! With the cooler mornings and evenings these days, I thought, "a cool evening like this would be perfect for eating outdoors!" So we headed over to Pizza Face Off, a pizza spot near Seokchon Lake!

Outdoor tables full on a Friday evening, so we sat indoors with the kids
Guess everyone had the same idea, haha.

Being a Friday evening, the outdoor tables were completely full! The vibe was amazing just walking in! But since we came with the kids, we took a seat inside the restaurant where it's more comfortable. Telling myself that next time, when it's a date with my husband, we'll definitely sit outside, haha.
Inside Pizza Face Off: atmosphere and the self-serve bar

The inside had this kind of vibe too.

I loved that the tables weren't crammed together and were actually quite wide! (You need a decently sized table to eat pizza comfortably, right?) At the self-serve bar, you get your own water, pickles, wet wipes, and utensils.

These pickles didn't seem store-bought — looked homemade. They weren't sour at all, so even the kids, who usually won't touch pickles because of the sourness, and my older father all ate them happily! (Went back for refills several times.)
Menu lineup and which pizzas are not spicy for kids

The menu is mainly pizza, but there's also pasta, chicken, French fries, and draft beer. They said the basic tomato-based sauce has some kick to it, so the pizza doesn't get greasy or tiring to eat even toward the end. (You can also adjust the spice level in 3 stages!)
Since we came with the kids, the owner kindly let us know right away that the base sauce is spicy, and if we were eating with children, we should pick either the Bacon Mashed Potato Pizza or the Sweet Potato Pizza. (Both use a different sauce instead of tomato sauce, so they're not spicy!) So we ordered the Sweet Potato Pizza (L) plus one glass of draft beer.
How does the Sweet Potato Pizza (L) taste?

The Sweet Potato pizza comes topped with sweet potato, bacon, and pineapple. (Being Hawaiian-style, this was solid!)

The dough had all the grease drained out of it, light and clean, with a thin base like a thin-crust pizza but a nice, fluffy crust — solid!
The texture was light and non-greasy, so the topping flavors really stood out, and since it wasn't a dripping-with-oil kind of pizza, it was great for feeding the kids without any worry. Even without the spicy tomato sauce, this was genuinely a pizza that never felt heavy.
It suited the kids' tastes perfectly too, and they inhaled it, haha. Honestly, since we were eating with kids, I figured a large would have leftovers we'd just pack up — but they cleaned the whole thing up neatly.
Draft beer at the right temperature — why we ordered two
The kids ate so well that it was actually the adults who fell short, haha. But we had the draft beer!!

It would've been a shame to skip draft beer in this weather, right? We didn't drive, so we figured, why not, and ordered one just to wet our parched throats.

Delicious! Ended up ordering one more and finishing with two glasses, haha.

It wasn't even served ice-cold, yet it was so good we asked for another and, feeling a bit sheepish, rambled on about it — turns out they really put thought into serving each beer at its ideal temperature. They take their draft beer seriously.

Anyway, the weather was great, the evening outdoor-seating atmosphere was great, the pizza was great (and being out on a family outing made it even better), so everything was so good that I want to come back. Next time, I want to try the signature pizza in regular size for the adults! Curious about the basic tomato sauce flavor too! And if I ever get the chance, I really want to come just with my husband and enjoy the outdoor tables properly!
