Bangi food alley bar in Seoul for Andong soju 35%: Jojomomo

In short

Jojomomo is a Korean bar in the basement of the Bangi food alley, near Jamsil Station in Songpa, Seoul. The writer ordered tuna kimchi rolls (참치묵은지말이, 12,000 won) with Andong soju 35% (19,000 won), picked a drinking glass from the shelf, and finished with corn ice cream (5,500 won). Jojomomo stays open late enough for a first or third round, but going early is best because a wait builds up at night.

Today I want to introduce a great spot in the Jamsil food scene / Bangi food alley! The vibe is so good it'd be perfect for a date or a blind date!! Let me show you around~

They stay open pretty late — Friday and Saturday even until 4am!

Jojomomo's interior was bigger than I expected, and the atmosphere was really nice. There's also a bar table haha, perfect for a blind date or a date!

This is the menu! It's varied, and the drink selection was great too haha.

Free truffle potatoes and a Jirisan Gangsoju welcome drink

For the basic side dish, Jojomomo gave us truffle potatoes and crackers! Plus a welcome drink — they call it Jirisan Gangsoju. Super clean and delicious, and those potatoes were the real kicker..!

They made it into little sandwiches lol, tasted great haha, really got my appetite going.

Picking your own soju glass at Jojomomo

When we ordered alcohol at Jojomomo, they told us to pick our own glass!! Amazing right haha, I was so excited. So many pretty glasses too. Drinking from the glass you want — that must make it taste even better!

There were so many kinds of glasses, all so pretty I couldn't decide… I might buy one for myself!! I want one so bad~~ I picked the glass with the dog paw print you see in the last photo!

Tuna kimchi rolls 12,000 won with Andong soju 35% at 19,000 won

  • Tuna kimchi rolls (참치묵은지말이) - ₩12,000
  • Andong soju 35% - ₩19,000

This is what we ordered! We heard the Andong soju was really good so we tried it. And the tuna kimchi rolls to go with it! The Andong soju had a subtle grain aroma that cleaned up the palate so nicely — such a great combo, right?

It came out with wasabi. The size was hefty too!! Totally my style haha, packed with tuna.

There's perilla leaf inside too, and with wasabi on top it's so chewy and delicious… The aged kimchi wasn't too sour either, which was great.

The tuna-to-mayo ratio was perfect, and the wasabi was the real deal! I'm going to try making this at home too haha.

After eating, cheers~ The Andong soju was so good. Really clean, and despite the high proof it wasn't harsh at all. I get why it's so popular..!!

Looking at it now, the aged kimchi looks almost golden haha. If you come to Jojomomo, you have to try the tuna kimchi rolls! The crisp, mildly tangy well-fermented kimchi wraps around the savory, mild tuna, and the texture from the first bite is amazing. The kimchi's freshness cuts right through the richness of the tuna mayo, so it never gets heavy — I just kept eating.

Corn ice cream for 5,500 won to finish the night

Corn ice cream - ₩5,500. Craved dessert so I ordered the corn ice cream — vanilla ice cream studded with corn kernels. There was cereal in it too, giving it such a great texture~~

Yum yum, I kept eating haha, it paired so well with the drinks too~~ The atmosphere here is really amazing. Great for a first round or a second round!

How long is the wait at Jojomomo? Tips and final verdict

We finished everything cleanly haha. If you're looking for a bar in Jamsil, I highly recommend this. It'd also make a great date spot!! I saved it to come back again haha. Since it's open late, it's also good for people coming for a third round. But it's better to come early!! If you come late there might be a wait ㅠㅠ Also, the staff were so kind haha.

Jojomomo in Bangi-dong was the perfect spot for tipping back quality anju and drinks in a cozy, mood-lit atmosphere! With that great vibe, it'd work not just as a date spot in Bangi-dong, but also as a comfortable place for a get-together with friends or drinking solo. If you're looking for a delicious Korean-style bar, definitely give it a visit!
