In short
Jjaengbanjip8292 Sinchon is a Korean BBQ restaurant on the Yonsei-ro university strip in Seodaemun, Seoul, where pork belly, pork neck, and pork jowl arrive on a patented spinning tray. A couple visited at 2pm and ordered the 600g pork platter at 49,000 won plus a side of doenjang rice at 8,000 won, finishing all 600g comfortably even at lunch. Haven't been to Sinchon in a while, and it turns out there was a university festival in full swing! We wandered around soaking up the lively vibe, and of course a good restaurant stop was a must ~

What kind of Korean BBQ restaurant is Jjaengbanjip8292 Sinchon?
We went to a Sinchon Korean BBQ restaurant known for its pork belly — Jjaengbanjip8292 Sinchon. First time visiting, and their unique tray-serving system is actually patented, which I thought was pretty cool. Curious how the meat would taste starting from lunchtime ~ Bet it's amazing ~ haha

Let me give you the real review from our delicious meal. We visited around 2pm, and I worried lunch meat might feel too heavy, but it was so good we ended up devouring it anyway.
Inside Jjaengbanjip8292 Sinchon: interior and seating

Inside Jjaengbanjip8292 Sinchon, I liked the spacious table spacing and the large table sizes. The big open windows especially gave it a wide-open, airy feel that I appreciated most of all.

Ordering the 600g pork platter for 49,000 won
Since we came to a famous Sinchon pork belly restaurant, we ordered the set menu without hesitation. There are individual dishes too, but we went with the platter set — the 600g pork platter for ₩49,000.

₩49,000 for the pork platter is actually a great price given how expensive pork belly has gotten lately. The owner brought out the patented tray himself ~ and wow ~ amazing, I'd never seen anything like it before!!!

The tray spins in a really unusual way ~ such a thoughtful, customer-friendly touch haha, genuinely convenient system ~

The 600g pork platter we ordered had fresh meat. Pork belly, pork neck, pork jowl — all the tasty cuts were included, which would be perfect for a Sinchon company dinner or a university club gathering too.

How it tastes grilled: first bite of pork jowl, myeoljeot, and salt
There was a lot of meat in the platter set. We put it on the grill and waited for it to cook up nicely, and since the meat was fresh, there was zero pork odor. Coming back to Sinchon after a while, I felt like we'd really found the right Korean BBQ spot — so happy haha

My husband and I took turns grilling, and the first bite went to the pork jowl. It's my favorite cut — I love that crisp, springy texture.

Dipping it in myeoljeot (fermented anchovy sauce) is also top-notch. The pork neck and pork belly are so tender they practically vanish the moment they hit your mouth — like magic.

The side dishes were clean and tasty too — wrapping jaeraegi (young radish kimchi) and gungchae with lettuce made the meat taste even richer.

Wrapping it with scallion shreds and pickled radish was delicious too. The meat is so good that if you're looking for a Sinchon pork belly restaurant, I'd recommend this one. Honestly this was my first Korean BBQ restaurant visit in Sinchon — I came because of reviews, but the meat was tender and the side dishes so good we ended up devouring everything.

Dip it lightly in salt for a clean bite, and you'll see just how tender and soft the meat really is.
Is the 8,000 won doenjang rice worth adding?

We ordered doenjang (soybean paste) rice as a side dish. It's ₩8,000, and they serve it in a metal bowl piled high, which honestly felt kind of nostalgic. They simmer the rice together with the doenjang, and it's a special menu item that seems really popular.

Between the two of us at Jjaengbanjip8292 Sinchon, we cleared 600g of meat and then finished a whole pot of doenjang rice too haha — you might not even believe how good it was. I'd recommend Jjaengbanjip8292 Sinchon. Definitely visit and enjoy the meat on their patented tray. It's a well-known spot for Korean BBQ in Sinchon.
