Paju Unjeong date-night Korean BBQ: pork belly and pork jowl, Tannae
In short
Tannae Paju Main Branch is a charcoal-grilled pork restaurant on Garam-ro in Unjeong, Paju. On a weekend evening, two diners waited about 15 minutes, then ordered two servings of pork belly, one serving of pork jowl and two bowls of rice, with kimchi stew and steamed egg served free. For two people, adding pork jowl to the pork belly kept the meal from getting repetitive and left them full.

Hey everyone! Last weekend my boyfriend and I were on a date in Paju and got a craving for meat for dinner, so we headed to Tannae Paju Main Branch!

We ended up eating our fill of pork belly and pork jowl too. Let me share exactly what we ordered as a couple, plus an honest review :)

Where is Tannae Paju Main Branch, and what are the hours and parking?

For parking, we used the nearby public street parking — I remember it wasn't expensive at all. There is a lot behind the restaurant, but it was full 🫠

The basic table setting.
What two people ordered at Tannae

- Pork belly x2 servings
- Pork jowl x1 serving
- Rice x2 bowls
- Zero Coke x1
And kimchi stew + steamed egg came out as free extras! Since there were two of us, just pork belly felt like it might not be enough, so we added a serving of pork jowl too — and in the end, it turned out to be a great call haha.
These days you usually only get a single can of soda for writing a review, so getting a whole stew and steamed egg as a freebie — is this real life?!
Two servings of pork belly grilled over charcoal

Of course, pork belly is the first thing you reach for at a BBQ place! Grilled golden brown on the grate, one bite gave a proper, savory flavor.

Great wrapped in lettuce, and just as good eaten plain — the kind of flavor that keeps your chopsticks coming back without feeling heavy.

My boyfriend and I kept saying "pork belly really is the best kind of meat~" while happily grilling away together haha.

One serving of pork jowl: how does it differ from pork belly?

While eating pork belly, we tried the pork jowl too, and I loved the chewy yet savory texture.

It has a totally different charm from the pork belly, so switching between the two kept things from getting boring.

👉 Highly recommend the pork belly + pork jowl combo!★
The free kimchi stew and steamed egg

After ordering the meat, kimchi stew and steamed egg came out for free.

Taking a break from the meat for a spoonful of spicy kimchi stew with rice — truly, Koreans run on rice-power... 😂
The steamed egg was soft and nice to eat between bites of meat, and by the time we'd finished two bowls of rice, it had become a pretty filling meal for the two of us. More than filling — we nearly burst haha.
With a Zero Coke on the side, it was the perfect weekend date dinner! I wanted a beer, but since we were driving... had to pass..... blame the car (?)

Final verdict on Tannae Paju Main Branch
On a weekend date in Paju with my boyfriend, we ate a hearty pork belly + pork jowl combo at Tannae Paju Main Branch. It wasn't just the meat — the free kimchi stew and steamed egg made it even better paired with rice.
If you're visiting as a couple like we did, I'd recommend two servings of pork belly plus one added serving of pork jowl. I was tempted by the pork ribs too, haha!
If you're on a date in Paju and today's the day you say "let's eat meat!" — try the pork belly and pork jowl combo like we did 🤍
