Hanam Misa Chinese restaurant for sauce-poured and dipped tangsuyuk
In short
O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang Hanam Misa Main Branch is a Chinese restaurant on Misa-daero in Hanam, Gyeonggi, specialising in nurungjitang (scorched rice soup). From a floor-to-ceiling window seat we ordered the seafood nurungjitang at 18,000 won and the mini fresh tenderloin tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) at 20,000 won, eating half the tangsuyuk with the sauce poured over and half dipped, and spooning self-serve bar pa-kimchi (green onion kimchi) into the soup for just the right seasoning. Nothing was heavy or spicy, so O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang worked well for a Hanam family meal with older relatives.

A while back I was looking for somewhere to eat with family and ended up at
O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang Hanam Misa Main Branch
And I had a great time!!! As the name suggests, this place centers on nurungjitang (scorched rice soup), so it was nice to enjoy something a little different from the usual Chinese food I eat!!

If you're looking for a menu that's comfortable to share with family, this is definitely worth a visit!
What are the window seats and the hall like?
At O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang Hanam Misa Main Branch, we got a seat by the window. The weather was great and with the floor-to-ceiling window, the view was amazing too! 💚🍀

Menu and what we ordered: mini tenderloin tangsuyuk and seafood nurungjitang
Here's the menu at O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang!! As befits a place where nurungjitang is the main event, there are various rice soup menu options! I ordered the fresh tenderloin tangsuyuk (mini) and the seafood nurungjitang!

O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang is huge, so it seems like it'd be great for group gatherings too!

Self-serve side dish bar: pa-kimchi is the kick
O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang has a self-serve bar too, so if you need more than the basic side dishes, you can just help yourself!!

The basic side dishes were clean and tasty too! Personally I really enjoyed the green onion kimchi haha

Seafood nurungjitang, 18,000 won: scorched rice soaked in broth
Seafood nurungjitang, ₩18,000. The most basic of the rice soup menu! It comes out piping hot, bubbling away — I can't even imagine how hot it'll be haha

It's loaded with seafood, vegetables, and mushrooms, and the broth is thick yet mellow, so it was easy to eat with a spoon!!

Most of all, the way the scorched rice soaks up the broth and turns moist and nutty was the kick!! Eating it hot really brings out that signature toasty flavor of nurungjitang, so I kept reaching for more!! It's not spicy at all, so I think both elders and kids would enjoy it!!

Mini tenderloin tangsuyuk, 20,000 won: half sauce-poured, half dipped
Mini fresh tenderloin tangsuyuk, ₩20,000. It felt like a waste to only have the rice soup, so I ordered the tangsuyuk too!

Crispy-fried tenderloin served with sauce and colorful vegetables — looks so appetizing!! The outside was crispy and, being tenderloin, the inside was tender, which paired well with the rice soup, and the sweet-and-sour sauce kept refreshing my palate in between bites!!

Eating the warm, hearty rice soup together with the crispy tangsuyuk made for a really satisfying meal, and they paired perfectly together!!

We had half of it sauce-poured hahaha. Even the sauce wasn't too sweet, so delicious!

The batter was thin, and the meat inside was thick and tender — both the dipped and sauce-poured versions were delicious haha

How was O Hyeongje Hwangje Nurungjitang for a Hanam family meal?
After this visit, I thought it would be a great spot to keep in mind for family meals or gatherings in Hanam! The menu overall is easy to share among several people, and you can also each order your own rice soup, or as a family, order one rice soup and add tangsuyuk or another Chinese dish — either way makes for a great meal!

I especially liked that, when eating with older family members, a warm rice soup is much easier on the stomach than something too spicy or heavy!!

Topping the rice soup with a bit of green onion kimchi made the seasoning just right for my taste, and the kimchi itself was really delicious too

We came for the seafood nurungjitang as a bit of a health boost and treated ourselves to a drink alongside it hahaha

If you're looking for a place to eat with family in Hanam or a change from the usual Chinese food, when you're searching for Hanam restaurants, Hanam Misa restaurants, or Hanam Chinese restaurants, take a look at the nurungjitang menu too!!!!
If you end up visiting while searching for a Hanam nurungjitang spot like I was, ordering the seafood nurungjitang together with the fresh tenderloin tangsuyuk to share is a great combo! A spoonful of warm rice soup alongside crispy tangsuyuk made for a really satisfying, comfortable meal with family!!
