I found a Korean BBQ place where the meat quality is genuinely great, and the free side dishes that come with your order are unbelievably generous. Pujutgan Saenggogi-jeom in Wangsimni's Haengdang Market caught both value and taste at once. My mouth was happy the entire meal, so I definitely recommend giving it a try.

Why Pujutgan Saenggogi-jeom suits group dinners: corkage free
There were already so many tables of people having group dinners or gatherings. The space was wide and the tables were spaced out nicely, so it seemed perfect for coming with a group of friends or booking for a company dinner.
There's another real reason Pujutgan Saenggogi-jeom gets strongly recommended as a group dinner spot: it's Corkage Free. Regular restaurants often charge a per-bottle fee that can add up, but here you can freely bring whatever drinks you like without worrying about cost.

Unlimited free stew, naengmyeon and nurungji
At Pujutgan Saenggogi-jeom, if you order meat per person, you get unlimited free kimchi stew, doenjang stew, naengmyeon (cold noodles), bibim guksu (spicy mixed noodles), and nurungji (scorched rice soup). They don't skimp just because it's a free side—the stew was packed with ingredients and the naengmyeon noodles had a nice chewy bite. It made me wonder if the owner was even making money, they were so generous!

And the grill isn't your usual flat grill—it's a genuinely big, hefty cast-iron cauldron lid. You all know meat grilled on a cauldron lid has better heat conduction and holds heat longer, making it taste even better, right?

Menu and prices: one serving of each pork cut
They have both beef and pork, so you can pick whatever suits your mood or cravings that day, which I really liked. There's raw pork belly, raw pork neck, hangjeongsal (pork jowl), gabrisal (pork skirt), and other crowd-pleasing pork cuts everyone loves, plus chadolbagi (beef brisket), sirloin, and salchisal (beef skirt)—savory, tender beef cuts great for a special occasion or when you want richer, meatier juices.

- Raw pork belly, 1 serving 180g (₩20,000)
- Pork neck, 1 serving 180g (₩20,000)
- Gabrisal, 1 serving 180g (₩20,000)

Usually at BBQ restaurants you have to order at least 2 servings of the same cut, which makes it hard to try different parts. But here, you can mix and order just 1 serving each of every meat menu item. I loved that so much...!!

What cooks on the cauldron lid rim, plus the side dishes
The extras placed around the edge of the grill while cooking were also really generous. The staff piled potatoes, mushrooms, kimchi, and onions around the edge of the cauldron lid and grilled them alongside the meat.

The side dish spread was really solid too—sweet-and-tangy dressed lettuce, fresh wrap greens, refreshing pickled radish, and even the premium myeongi-namul (wild garlic leaves), all set out.

Is the free doenjang stew really this good?
Does this look like a doenjang stew served for free? Not at all, right! Just because it's served as a free side didn't mean it came out half-hearted.

It was packed with chunky tofu, potatoes, and meat. Mixed into rice, it cut through the richness of the meat and left me feeling really full and satisfied.
The staff grilled the meat skillfully and cut it into bite-sized pieces, so I could relax and chat while I waited. The service here is really something..!

How the pork belly, neck and gabrisal tasted
We started off hearty with thick, juicy pork belly and mild, savory pork neck.
Thanks to the unique feel of the cast-iron cauldron lid, the sizzling sound and the sight of the meat cooking really stirred up my appetite.

Meat with crisp edges and juices packed inside.

The gabrisal had great texture and a nice chew..! My favorite of the day was definitely the gabrisal. It was so good.
I have to say this is a raw meat spot with thick, juicy, quality cuts..!

Every side dish was made to bring out the meat's flavor even more, so my chopsticks never rested—I kept making different wrap combinations and eating them all up.

Finishing with nurungji soup and cold mul-naengmyeon
As we were finishing the meat, I ordered nurungji-tang (scorched rice soup), one of the free side menu items, to wrap things up. Honestly, I like nurungji more than fried rice. I love how the savory scorched-rice broth with softened rice bits gently settles your stomach, so I was really happy to be able to have it.

Eating the nurungji-tang with kimchi fried until golden and crispy in the savory fat that dripped from the meat—no need to say more, it was amazingly good.

And the real finale, mul-naengmyeon (cold noodle soup)! This was free too.. I kept being surprised as I ate. The tangy, refreshing broth with floating ice slush and the springy, well-cooked noodles cut right through the richness after eating meat. Thanks to the generous hospitality and insanely good value, this was a place I enjoyed feeling great and full from start to finish.
